I'm looking for a late night nanny or someone who will look after my kids overnight. I would like someone with a good reputation or connected with agency. Can anyone help?

I live in South London. I previously lived in the U.S and used a nanny agency there. it is very popular out there.

Some childminders are registered to provide overnight care and are regulated by OFSTED. Contact OFSTED or your local Childrens Information service for details. The child will probably have to stay at the Childminders house overnight unless you get a nanny.

I disagree with other responses - I trained as a nanny, have great qualifications, references and experience. I don't nanny anymore but still do overnights for friends children, or friends of friends. Get referals from people you know. Meet the nanny first. But expect to pay a lot - I charge $100 for the first child over night, and $150 for 2, $200 for 3 children etc. If any are under 1, be very careful, many don't know what they are doing. Ask them if they know how to give CPR to children under 5. What they would do if a babies temperature hit 100. Then what they'd do at 104.
If I am meeting a family for the first time, I expect to show references, give emails or phone numbers of other families I've worked with, and describe my experiences. Any good nanny should do that. If you find one that is right, you will be totally sure about going away.

Hi, I live in South London too (Blackheath) and am having another baby in July.

I work part time as a club DJ in and around London, and so I will be looking for overnight childcare later in the year too!

I've not looked ahead yet into overnight care but perhaps we could swap details to try and combine the costs & care?

Jo :o)

I would never trust a nanny or an agency to send someone to watch my children overnight. Please consult a good friend or a family member.
