Persuade me! Since I decided I wanted to have kids I have heard nothing but horror stories about episiotomies, postnatal depression, never sleeping again etc... But what I really want to know is what do you enjoy about having kids? Whats the best thing about it? Is there anyone out there who feels like it was the best thing they ever did? Did it strengthen anyones relationship in the end, or change it in a positive way? (Not that I think my own relationship needs improving I love it, him, sorry!)

I dont mean knocking them all over but a clip around the Lughole to a unruly teenager or a tap on the backside to a misbehaveing toddler.

I personally think its ok if you dont take it to far, It never did me any harm.

What are your rules about your kids staying home from school. Do they have to be running a feaver and vomiting to stay home. Do you send them anyway? What about when you were growing up. I incourage mine to go unless they are really sick. I do not want them to be the type of employee that always misses work.

My husband doesnt want me to work due to past insecurities and me having my own money (thinks I wont need him). Anyways, the whole thing was I would stay home with the child and he would provide the financial means. I was told when I was pregant that he would buy me a proper car (airbags) and it has been 3 years now and nothing. When I say I will get a job to get one he gets angry or insecure and says he will get me one. We even had the money to get one and I was called a selfish Bitchh because the amount of money he had was just enough to buy a car. Anyways I have been at home for 3 sraight weeks and havent really left thehouse cause I dont have a car and its way too cold to take a toddler on a bus, plus by the time we get anywhere thats about 30-40 mins. He has a newer truck (00) that he bought with his money and says he has it cause he works for it. I hate depending on rides cause 2 mean 5 to some ppl. I also dont like not being able todo things with my son. What shoudldo?

I have a 2 and 4 year old and am planning a 4 day 3 night trip with my husband to get away before baby number 3 arrives (I'm 3 months pregnant). I'm leaving them with their grandmother. I feel so bad for them cause they'll miss mommy and daddy. I've never left them for this long. I'm afraid I won't have fun because I'll be worried and missing them BUT... I really need this break and I haven't been on a vacation for many years. Any advice to ease the pain of leaving them? Thanks.

Child custody question: For the first three months that he left, I have the children most of the time. He is a high powered banker so travels alot, etc. I then said, why not give him the kids most of the time. For two months, he had them three weeks a month, I had them one.
He complained, complained that I DIDN'T HAVE THE KID ENOUGH. The last three months I have had them most of the time because he has gone on ski vacations and away with his girlfriend ( who he lets stay over when the kids are with him but that is for another day). Anyway, starting this month, he has them one week, I have them the next, etc, etc, Monday to Monday. He now says that he doesn't like that schedule that I have the kids TOO MUCH and he is going to take me to court. Am I missing something?

When either of my sons visits I go back with them and help with the driving if asked.....a ten hour trip into the middle of the desert .I try to help with a bit (only a bit) of organisation and leave by bus or plane after a short stay so politely not to over stay my welcome. I am still invited so my help is appreciated. I wondered what other parents do?

What's a good overnight diaper? I've been buying Pampers Cruisers, which work really really well (my daughter hardly ever wakes up in a lake!); however, they are expensive at $20 a box. Can you recommend a good overnight diaper and don't say Parent's Choice or White Cloud as those store brands are crap!

I have three children ages 9, 8, and 2. I work full time and attend college at a university 60+ miles away. I consider my self to be a good mother and person. Lately I have been feeling the need to go out and have some fun in my downtime or do things I enjoy, or work . However I can never find someone willing to babysitt w/o an enormous charge, trustworthy, reliable, or wanting something in return that I cannot offer (ex: use of my car or living with me). I already rely on the state for care but it is only for me to work 36 hours a week and to attend class so I cannot abuse this gift. I am not rich and cannot always afford to pay a sitter for a couple of hours. I have no trusworthy family nearby and my friends all have children themselves and want no extra to deal with. I have dreamed of being a homeowner before my kids go to college, I would love to work extra to save up, or just have some me time everyonce in a while. How can I find some help with a sitter to achieve my goals.

At what age did your child speak in full sentences? My son is 9 and is still speech delayed. He has a visual impairment and think that this impacts on he speech also (beside the low muscle tone, etc.). He is getting speech therapy - but it's a slow process.
