Stop allowing television watching and computer game playing. Those 2 activities have been incriminated in decreasing a child's attention span in recent research studies. If you have a tv set in your child's room, get it out of there!! And teach him to read at 4 and go the library weekly and check out books he can then read himself, the very simplest books. Most of all, spend time with him/her making stuff and learning togehter. This is going to take time, a few years probably, just persevere.

You can't. Your child's attention span should only be about 3 or 4 minutes. 5 at best. It's a developmental thing. One thing that might help you get better one on one time when your child is paying attention is to engage your child frequently throughout the day and not just in single long bursts. Give your child plenty of time to get up and walk around or switch activities. Have fun with your child!

At 4 years old don't expect your childs attention span to be longer than 4 minutes. By the time they are ready for school their attention span will increase. You could try giving him alone time in his room to play. You may discover that he play with the same toy for a very long time.

4-5 365 days olds can certainly communicate approximately a CRAFT extra effective then a 6-7 365 days previous. I capitalize craft because of the fact ordinary, the extra youthful ones have a lots shorter interest span. i'd say 10 min. for the older ones and approximately 15 for the extra youthful ones.

I think it depends on the child and the activity. If you want to grab their attention for a longer period of time, they need to be activily engaged in the project. Think about the type of learner your child is and use that as a tool for retaining their attention in other areas.
