I have three children ages 9, 8, and 2. I work full time and attend college at a university 60+ miles away. I consider my self to be a good mother and person. Lately I have been feeling the need to go out and have some fun in my downtime or do things I enjoy, or work . However I can never find someone willing to babysitt w/o an enormous charge, trustworthy, reliable, or wanting something in return that I cannot offer (ex: use of my car or living with me). I already rely on the state for care but it is only for me to work 36 hours a week and to attend class so I cannot abuse this gift. I am not rich and cannot always afford to pay a sitter for a couple of hours. I have no trusworthy family nearby and my friends all have children themselves and want no extra to deal with. I have dreamed of being a homeowner before my kids go to college, I would love to work extra to save up, or just have some me time everyonce in a while. How can I find some help with a sitter to achieve my goals.

I feel the same way. I have 3 kids and they are 9, 6, 3 and I have a really hard time finding a babysitter. I am very protective of my kids and I won't just let anyone take care of them. I would say that when you get of work one day a week take an extra hour to do something that you want to do. I don't think that is wrong. Just remember that before long, your oldest will be able to babysit and then you can have more free time. Just hang in there and all will turn out

I also have the same problem, its hard to trust and afford day care, But referring to the answer giving before.. I'm not bashing that person in anyway, but coming from a large family and being the oldest... don't put the responsibility of raising Ur children on Ur oldest child.. you may want to have a life but so does Ur child.. don't ruin his or her life just cause u want to have a life... believe me... they will hate you in the long run... as for working etc.. i guess they have to be a bit more understanding of the situation.. Just remember they aren't the one who had the children.. anyway i hope everything works out for u, good luck!
