as long as the child's needs are taken care of, do you think its healthy or nessessary to tell them they have a learning disability? For their self esteem and self image I mean, or in what way as a parent should you explain it to them so they will understand and know that they are still just as good as anybody else?

I read today that should keep your child rear facing until he is 33lbs if your car sear permits. I was very excited about letting him enjoy looking forward and when I heard that I was a little disappointed.

The Britax car seats give you an option of rear facing or forward facing up to 33lbs. I was curious what other parents do when they are at the in between weight....

When you child was 25lbs but under 33lbs, how did you have them facing?

My Dad just hit me! Does he have any right to do this? He's already been convicted of 2 or 3 child abuse cases, should I report him again? This could get him arrested and put in jail for years!

refuses to eat, but whines and cries about it the whole time as well. Tonight for example. mac and cheese and hot dogs..not the most nutritious I know, but we are snowed and iced in....she took one bit e of the hot dog, didn;t want it, so I told her she had to eat the mac and cheese. Instead of just eating it she would put some in her mouth and then start whining and literally crying about how yucky it was, over and over again. I finally got up took her plate and said,

"listen, their are thousands of starving children out there who would take your unwanted plate of food and happily eat it while asking for more, so since you do not want to eat it you can have what they are probably eating tonight if anything,"

and i gave her a glass of water and a plain hot dog bun. Then I told her that we are going to volunteer at a local homeless shelter serving food to homeless families so that she can get a first hand look at what it looks like to be homeless and cold in the wintertime.

#1. Are the Britax fabric covers interchangable? I wanted to order one that is boyish for my son but I'd like to order a girly one to use once he's grown out of it and use it on the same car seat if I have a baby girl next. If so, where do I order them?

#2. Does the Britax Marathon recline? If so, does it only recline in the rear facing position or does it recline it both rear facing AND forward facing positions? I'm guessing only in the rear facing positions?

Any help would be appreciated! Also, are you pleased with your Britax seat? How is the ease of use?

Regarding sex ed.

As you cant get pregnant from a bj (yes know about stds... flavoured condoms), or boob jb, or using sex toys or mars bars (as in mars bar party done by the 'Rolling Stones')

Why dont they get sex ed to suggest teen do those instead of full sex?

Ie safer option.

I mean, since when did anyone get pregnant from a rampant rabbit?

Likewise those kinds of things norally occur first... as in 3rd base comes before a home run.

Plus why dont parents make up a big test of things like can you get pregnant if you pee after, stadning up etc...

and make kid test it to see how much rubbish they beleive instaead of accepting we did it all in class.

ie say prove it, take the test and see if you get 100%

As not getting 100% = granny time

My husband got my son a ride-on Thomas the Tank Engine. It makes the sound of a train when its pushed and he plays with it none stop. I know he will grow out of it but good grief! I hear the sound of a train in my sleep! lol. Have you ever secretly hide a favorite toy of your child. Hes 2 so he won't really notice I don't think. The sound can be turned off but he knows how to turn it back on! lol. And he mainly does it at night after his sister (8 mo) goes to bed and wakes her up. He doesn't understand that its quiet time! (hes a little slow, he really doesn't understand)

Im turning 13 next week. Today my parents told me to come home for 5 for dinner, and I lost track of time. As soon as I realised I ran home but I was a hour late. As soon as I got in my dad was all mad and started telling me if Im not going to be home when Im told that Im not going to be allowed out as much and blah blah blah. I got really mad and told him to shut up. He got up and kinda yelled at me to go to my room and go to bed. It was way too early to go to bed and he was being mean. I said no I wont leave me the f alone. He got up and took my arm and dragged me to my room. Next thing I knew he had my pants down and was spanking me over his lap with the back of my hairbrush and he wouldnt stop even though I tried to get him to. It really hurt and I havent been spanked in over a yr I thought 13 was too old to be spanked. Is this right?

today they were playing and the baby started crying, i asked my 9yr old what happened, he said that he didn't know, i separated them and when confronting him again he said he kicked him in the stomach. i dont know whether it was intentional or not, but I dont know what to do about the situation, i,m afraid if I let them play anymore that something will happen the baby couldve been seriously injured. how should i deal with my 9yr old about playing with his little brother

First off I want to say that I love my husband and he is a great dad. Loveing and good with the kids. He works hard all week and I am not begrudging him some relaxing time when the week end comes but what I want to know is as a stay at home mom am I wrong for wanting a day off to? I love my kids and I like to look after them and the house. IT's just lately I find that I feel like I could use a day off. I don't want to go out clubbing,or shopping or anything like that I just want one day where I don't have to cook ,clean up or chase after the kids. But I feel guilty when I ask my husband to do things like make dinner every once in awhile. Or even just watch the kids while I lay down and read a book. Is it just me or do all stay at home mom's feel this way.

Heres what I think,
Simply don't be gay. Don't choose that lifestyle. It is a sin and God strictly forbids it (I am not religious but I know enough about the Bible to know that). Gayness is a learned behavior not something you are born with. I will teach my daughter when she is older (she is 3 years old know) that it is a sin to be gay and it is not normal. She will not be gay because I will teach her it is Immoral. Homosexuality used to be aganst the law but it is legal anywhere now, this is a sign of moral decay. I believe in morals and family values and me and my fiancee (who I live with) both strongly feel this way. I am 17 by the way but I am old enough to know right from wrong and gay is wrong, morally and religiously. So how could any one say Homosexuality is normal and natural?

Why do most parents with Average children have a problem with others that have a disability? until it's their own child.

I was very upset when I went to a school meeting talking about how the school was going to combine special needs child with average child. and all of the parents with average child disapproved of that program because they did not want there children around special needs children.
Don't they realize they are teaching there children to dislike disable children and to not treat them fair.
Parents with average children just don't understand what we go through, It is already hard enough trying to find the right kind of care for our disabled children so when one of these programs comes up it is very limited and I believe that they all should be combined so that OUR children can learn to love and accept others that are different.
So why do most want to ruin this kind of program for the people who need it. Are they just scared of what they don't understand themselves.

I think spanking your child is perfectly okay...my mom disciplined me like that, and I turned out okay. What is your opinion?

I have 3 African American step children. I am caucasion. It seems like all they care about is partying and boys. They have grew up in the ghetto around so much violence. I want to move out of this enviroment and get them into a better neighborhood and much better enviroment. The 13 year old got into a horrible fight with another girl. It took 2 ADULT MEN to pull the two apart. They listen to all this rap music and go to all these block parties and stuff and are absolutly upsessed with this man called lloyd(the username that one of them typed is above) There was this nice boy dressed properly and there was this other boy sagging jeans long braids etc etc she chose him instead of the other boy. Should I just keep my mouth shut or do something about it? I bet they have had sex. They have no respect for themselves. The wear all these inappropriate clothes etc etc I just do not know what to do.

I took my oldest daughter ( 14 yrs. old) to the mall yesterday she wanted to get some new stuff for school and for some parties, first she wanted to go to Hollister.co and pick out some new clothes ( i guess that's the hot new store for teens) she picked out a whole bunch of stuff and spent $120.00 than she wanted to go to Coach and get a new purse for her friends sweet sixteen she spent $75.00, but after that she wanted to make one more stop at Chanel and got some other stuff... she spent about $200 dollars.... coming to the days total she spent $395.00, do you think that she spent too much for a 14 year old? I feel that i spent too much on things that she might only use a couple of times, do you think i should have her pay for some of it? I don't want her to think that I don't want to buy her stuff... What should i tell her if I'm constantly buying her expencive items?
