I agree. They both need balance in their lives. Your husband's little sister is going to be overexered and might find herself trapped in some ways.

Your sister is not learning any responsibility.

Both are bad, but I think overworking is slightly better than underworking.

It really depends for your husbands sister. Are the activities her idea or her parents? Does she truly enjoy them? Some people are just Type A personalities. They derive enjoyment from working hard. If her parents are pushing her then they can expect problems in the future. Rebellion, falling grades, drinking, ect. As for your sister, she's behaving like a normal teen, not always a good thing. What she needs to do is find something that interests her. If she likes boxing matches (and its a safe environment) then she should see if there's any paying or even non paying job she can do. Promotions, advertising equipment maintenance etc. She be doing something she enjoys while learning to be responsible.
I was the one who liked to do nothing but sit around reading in my family. When I got to college I found purpose that helped me learn to work harder. My sister was always going to gymnastic meets all over our tri state area. She's now an alcoholic, unemployed mother of 3.

it depends on the kids. Mine do gymnastics, scouts, basketball , swimming and soon football (Aussie rules). They thrive with this. Always excited when they come out of school to be off to sport. And on top of that last week they both wanted to add keyboard lessons, karate and state choir to the list. (I said no) They never say "I don't want to do...." my daughters first words this morning were. "gymnastics tonight yay". But i know other kids who wouldn't cope with this schedule. As long as the kids are happy to do it I don't see anything wrong with being busy. And I know mine are not going to fall into the trap of childhood obesity.

I agree, it does sound as if they need some balance. Maybe you should introduce them to each other...lol.
