I agree with Sherrel. You shouldn't have to hide it--if you are, then he's not listening to you or respecting you. He should be able to not play it because that is his consequence, not because he can't find it. If he knows x-box is off limits and he goes and plays it anyway, then there should be further consequences. He'll get it in the end, and maybe even stop being sneaky and not listening to his Mother!

You really shouldn't worry about a good hiding place. If you take it and your child gets it and plays it knowing he his grounded he should lose it permanently! Give it to good will or something if he cannot obey rules.

My kids were also very good at finding things I had to hide. One day I hid something in their own closet, and they never once thought of looking for it in their own room.

well you can give it to a friend and tell them you are hiding this and they can hide it and when your child is ungrounded get the controller back.

I am not sure why you have to hide it - if you said no x-box then your kid should not touch the x-box.

i was notorious for finding my xmas and bday presents before they were supposed to be found. my sixteenth bday present was a pair of diamond earings... those i did not find because she hid them in a very good spot.... she taped the box to the underside of the kitchen table! :)

in the very back of the coat closet,
hidden in a photo box
behind the canned veggies in the pantry
hidden in a pot in the drawer,
also your trunk works as well.
