I don't think it's too old, but it might put you into a high-risk pregnancy category. The older the woman, the increased chance of things like Downs Syndrome. You will probably need to have more testing done than a younger woman, but you can still possibly have a healthy baby since you are on the lower end of the high risk category.
As far as being wiser, well, I couldn't tell you about that. I don't know you personally. It all depends on your parenting style & personality. Good luck with everything!

I was a month off 34 when I gave birth and definitely do not think it is too old, and my friend who is 41 has two boys under 4. They keep you young and your not worrying about partying and things as by 34 you have done most of it or at least I had ;o) and I don't feel as though I have missed out on life which some of my friends who were younger mums do (though they wouldn't change it for the world). If now feels right for you then go for it xxx

I was 22 when I had my first and 34 almost 35 when I had my second. No it is not to old, around age 40 is Dr's start to check for birth defects as a common procedure. When I was pregnant with my son I had all the tests run not because of my history or family history but just for piece of mind.

course its not to old. how old was Mrs Blair when she had her latest child
and i know people you have had child en at 35, and they are coping fine and everything, father is actually 50
you can only be wiser if you have experienced children before and been able to be around when they are been brought up, and help out in the upbringing. also at the age of 34, you should of settled down with a job, got yourself a nice home and car and a partner.

That's not too old. Many women are beginning to have children later and later because people are living longer. My mom had me when she was 35 ( I was the youngest out of 4). There's been a 64 year old that had a baby! Any time you feel you are ready, go ahead.
And if you want children but don't want to be pregnant, you could always adopt or foster. There's plenty of kids out there that want loving homes!

No, not too old. If you took care of yourself and stayed away from drugs, radiation etc., your eggs should be fine. My sister in law just gave birth to her second child at age 41. Her first was born at her age of 37. Just keep in mind, after age 40 you are increasing your chances of Downs Syndrome. In addition, you need your energy to keep up with a toddler and eventually an active child. You're only 34 so you are in no jeopardy.

No, you can safely have kids up to the age of 43, after which Down's syndrome starts to become a little bit more common in the babies than it was in the babies of younger mothers.
I think it is bettr because you have had a life already for a good while and so you won't resent the time demands of your baby as perhaps a younger woman might.

I don't think you are too old at all, but I do think that you have it wrong if you think that you will be "wiser". At what exactly? You will still be a new mom that fumbles with the rest of us, no matter what extra life experiences you have under your belt.
