Na, not at all. I am right where I know I should be (at home with my girls) I know this, that's what is most important. Don't worry what others say, really deep down, they too know they should be home with their children. I had a lady say, I am upset because I am not contributing to society being a stay-at-home-mom, lol. This was coming from someone with a minimum wage type assistant job. That also boggles my mind, parents need to subtract daycare from their duel wages, to see what they really make, that way they can make an educated decision on weather or not two incomes are better then one.

Yes. I think it's bullsh!t. I believe that this is one of the hardest jobs anyone could ever take on! If they only knew what it was like, they would understand! And what really gets me is most of the critics in this area who are so quick to say that's not a real job, they don't get paid, don't even have kids! What the hell is that? Who are they to judge what is an isn't a real job? Just because someone doesn't get a paycheck, doesn't mean they don't work more than 40 hours a week, I mean hell not only do they work more hours, but they work seven days a week!

It does make me mad because I have been both a stay at home mom and a working mom. But then you do have the side of being a working mom and getting yelled at as much for leaving your children with others to watch while you have to go out and earn a living to keep them fed, clothed and housed. It goes both ways and it is not fair to either side to be downed because of the choices that are made. I really tend to agree that mothers staying home is best for the kids but if circumstances allow for it. Others have no choice and should not be ridiculed because they have to work just as stay at home moms should be respected for that choice they make.

Yes, I do. I worked at a "regular 9-5" job since I was 17.
I became a stay at home mom after the birth of the second child. I swear I work more than I did at my other job. lol. Never ending things to do and go.

Those people obviously don't understand and have never tried it. They think we sit around and watch T.V. all day and do nothing. Being a stay at home mom is like having 2 jobs, no sick days and no pay but also very worth it. I have had the opportunity of having both worlds and I respect and admire moms who do both.

It's one of the most important jobs there is. the children are our future. They will discover cures for Cancer. Be Presidents of our country. I can go on and on.

Stay at home moms can help nurture these children when they are small. Teach them right from wrong. Teach them fairness.

Working parents have the same challenge.

We all have to work together...paid or not.

I used to, now I just ignore them. I chose to stay at home with my daughter, some people think I'm just wasting my college degree, but I get to take my daughter to lots of activities, and now that she's in school I get to take her to school, pick her up and take her to after-school activities. I do miss working at times, and a larger income would be nice, but I still felt like I made the right decision for our family, and that doesn't mean it's the best decision for every family,so no, I'm not putting down those Mom's who do work outside of the home.

If it's not a real job then how come other people get paid so much for it? As in daycares and nannys and such. Of course it's a blessing to be able to stay home with my child - but that doesn't mean it's not work.

OMG I flip. I work a fulltime job now. I stayed at home with my sons and that was the hardest job I have ever had.
I had a friend that would constantly talk ish about how I shouldnt be tired-'I was home all day.'But between kids, animals, house, hubby- I was ALWAYS exhausted. It is a very hard job and its Never done.

I am a stay at home mom but I don't view this as a job. I do get upset when people use the fact that I don't have a job as a reason to attack me. Don't get me wrong it is hard at times but I am so thank full to be able to stay at home...for now.
