I have four kids ages 7,5,3,and 2. My husband wants me to work full time and let a babysitter watch our kids. We can't afford a daycare so he looks online for someone who is willing to watch 3 kids for really cheap. I don't like the idea of some stranger taking care of my kids. Some of those people who watch kids for really cheap treat the kids they watch like a paycheck they will do the minium to get paid and thats not good for my kids. Thats what i told my husband and he said i am to over protective of my kids and i should go to work. Even if i did work we would only gain $200 a month because of the extra gas and babysitting fees we would have to pay. So what do you think? My husband makes enough money to support our family.

I have a question to all parents.I've noticed, when you post a question about parenting - spanking, punishments, bed time, etc, you read all answers but always pick the answer of a parent who has a lot of children. What I mean is,once I answered a question about discipline and was chosen as "the best answer" just because I pointed as a source "I'm a mother of 5 children"(I answered from another email). And the asker explained "I like all the answers but I think your is best, considering that you are a mother of 5".People,I am 12 and I definitely have NO children, but just know some things about discipline. What I wanna say is how indignant am I at that.People with no kids or with 1-2 kids are trying to help you and you almost ignore their answers just because they have no kids(or have, but don't say it) and you may pick the answer of a 12-year-old just because the 12-y-o has said that she is 36 and has 5 children!Stupid - isn't it?

I have twin daughters and they are 9 mos old. Sometimes when I am tired and they are fighting sleep I will just take them to my bed and let them fall asleep in a couple of minutes I will put them in their crib. this just really save me some time of the fighting sleep game. So will this come back to bite me later when the girls are older?

Studies show its best after age 25, in terms of maturity and selflessness, I agree no kids before age 25 or marraiges either.

I was promised this for over 2 years. The deal was I would stay home and watch the kid and he would get the things. He works and makes the good money. He hates the idea of me working and or going back to school.
I think after 2 years and broken promises I have a right to not do what he he loves so much. I dont hink of it as childish, but why should I let him get what he wants from me if he wont get what I would like.
I have been couped up in the house for over 2 years, lost my friends becuase he is so insecure about anything, Im tired of relying on people for rides (5pm really mean 9 pm when they pick youup) And for you retards who say put the kid in a daycare and get a job...DUH...how he wont pay for it. HE IS USELESS IN THAT ASPECT. and family is usless as well.

I've been looking into going back to school for a while now, but I just don't have the nerve to do it. My husband is the bread winner in our family and if I went back to school, I don't want to have to work on top of being a mom and a wife. I have applied for a pell grant, but I haven't heard back about it yet. I still don't know what exactly what I want to do anyway. I guess the basic classes are what scare me the most. Going in to math class and taking tests and all of that. Does anyone have any words of encouragement or any advice for me?

Hello. I was just wondering if anyone out there with 9 year olds have experienced heavy duty mood swings? What I mean by that is a horrible mouthy mouth, the "I don't care attitude", deliberately being hateful (picks fights with you about everything). I was told that this was just a phase but it's really getting the best of me. Any suggestions or other stories would help me keep my sanity

My son is 22 months and we have done a good job of trying to get rid of the paci, but I can't get him to completely let go of it. I was just curious what the average age is to ditch the thing.
thanks

I'm having a problem at home with my 7 year old step-son with him constantly referring to me as "Sexy" and staring or trying to touch my chest. I understand the part of boys being curious.. but this is too much. It makes me uncomfortable. I've talked to him about being respectful to women and what is appropriate... but what can I do to really make an impact? His father has custody, therefore he lives with me as well. I've asked my husband to talk with him about it and expressed my concerns about his behavior. He said he would, but I'd like to know if there was anything I could do at all that would leave an impression on him that it's not tolerated. Thanks!

My daughter and I had a pretty open relationship or so I thought. I took her to the doctor and when they asked if she was sexually active she said yes. I was shocked. What do I do?? How do I approach this?? Is this normal?? She is 16. My son began having sex at 16, but I am more upset with it being my daughter.
why wouldn't she tell me?? I would have accepted it just as I did with my son.

There's this boy "Mike" who used to live in our development - he was a trouble maker. His parents divorced and he moved to N. Carolina with his mom and his dad still lives here. He is here visiting his dad during the long school break. He is probably 9 or 10.This afternoon my kids (7 and 2) were playing outside - there are always a ton of kids playing outside. So he started playing with everyone. Around 12 I told my kids it was time to come for lunch. He quietly asked me if he could have some lunch. He said his dad left early in the morning and he hasn't eaten yet - not even breakfast. I said yes, but then he would have to leave as we had plans this afternoon. After lunch he starting walking towards his house and then came back and told me he lost his house keys. I asked for his dad's phone number so I could call him and tell him -he didn't have it. What would you have done - called police, just left him, watched him all day?
