You cannot waste time worrying about how you would react in an emergency or in the midst of a criminal act. Nothing will prepare you for such a situation , no one can really know how they will react. You just have to hope you will react in the best way possible.Do not worry too much about what might happen and then forget to enjoy your time with your children each day. Most people live ordinary lives without anything extrodinary happening like being in the middle of a criminal act. The media is responsible for reporting the news. As the parent you are responsible for making your children feel safe each day.

Some things you just have to give to God. You have no control over some situations. Just pray that everything will be ok. The odds of you being in a life-threatening sitation with your children are very low. Just have faith and hope for the best.

I think that we all worry about our children..that is why we protect them like we do. I truly believe that your faith will help, as well as your motherly instincts.
An extended family member was attacked while doing her job..she still states that if it was not for her children she would have died.. All she could think about while this large man was attacking her was her children and she started to pray..then the children's faces flashed through her mind and she began fighting like she never fought before and all 95 lbs of her escaped this man and now lives to tell of it. I really believe that we can't say exactly what we would do until we are faced with it..
But I do know that I would be willing to fight what I had to fight to protect my children and their safety. And it sounds like you would to.

all i can say is trust your motherly instincts. you cant prepare for bad things. the preparations wont help anyway. just trust your gut and do what you know you should do should something happen. no need worrying over this though. just enjoy your kids
