Because there were not enough same race foster/adoptive families available for children to be placed with. As a result, rather than allow these children to languish in the system for years, agencies and families began to open themselves up to the possibilities of transracial foster/adoption.

A good family is a good family, regardless of it's make up.

Because there are so many unwanted mistreated children in the world and there are so many people that can give these children a good and loving home even if the parents are of a different race.

ther are not enough ethnic minority fosterers.

but it shouldnt make a difference anyway, im sure a child would love a caring home with foster parents not mater the colour of their skin;)

i don't know if it is any more, and god knows why, my mother adopted me and four years later adopted my brother he was and still is black, she already have four children of he own and we all mixed just the same it was over fifty years ago and we never knew there was any difference between any of us ,we just all loved eachother and our mum and dad... we never say the colour....
