Firghtening things happen these days, I would never let me kids off at the mall by themselves. Little children get molested in mall bathrooms and kidnapped from the stores.

This question if that's what it can be called is near incomprehensible. The nearest I can figure is ... If as a parent I care so little as to drop off my 13 - 17 yrs old child off at the mall, unsupervised, then why don't I do the same for 6-11 yr old.
And I don't care is that it?
It's a ridiculous question because the suppositions are so wrong.
Most parent's do care, most are hoping that at a given age the opportunity to go unattended to the mall or someplace else is a venture into personal responsibility.
As for children much younger... they simply are not responsible or old enough to be left like that.
Additionally, our concerns are just as great for the welfare of our children, but at some point we have to let them leave the nest.
That is, it is just as ridiculous to think that I demonstrate care for my child by insisting I go to the mall with them until they are at least 30 something.

What a horrible thought/ question. You don't have kids do you?
Adults with big kids DO care. My parents still worry about me and my brother and we're 20 and 23. You never stop worrying about your kids. But older kids have better common sense and are less likely to get hurt at a mall. They can take better care of themselves than a six year old. Scary things can happen at the mall and everyone seems to look the other way.

You must be young. 6-11 years old, really? ADults take advantage of small children because children don't know how to protect themselves. Child Molesters, kidnappings and worse. Hopefully, if a teenager is going to the mall by hisself, then they are mature enough to do so.
My guess is that you are in the age range of 6-11 probably 10 or 11 and have an older sister or brother that goes to the mall by themselves and want to know why you can't. Sorry hun, you just aren't mature enough yet to recognize the dangers of the world yet and still need the protection of an adult.

Who lets a 6 year old go to the mall by themselves? This cant be a serious question. Do you watch the news? A 6 year old may not say no like a teenager would. When my kids are 15-18, Im going to know where they are at all times but Im not going to hold their hands through the mall like Im going to with my 4 and 2 year old now, and will continue to hold their hands at the age of 6 through the mall. When they are 8 they can walk next to me but IM going to make it clear do not walk away from me. I will tell them what could happen.

That is the worst idea I've ever heard. For one thing, kids that young have less of a chance of defending themselves if someone attempts to abduct them. For another thing, would you honestly think a 6-year old is responsible enough to walk around on their own among strangers without getting lost or worse? Why in the hell would a child that young need to go to the mall anyhow. Seriously, girl, I hope you don't have kids.

What in the world are you talking about?! Drop little kids off at the mall by themselves! It's bad enough we have to drop big kids off without an adult! You referred in this ? to "you parents" so I am hoping that you are not a parent yourself . . . if you are, then God help us.

They spend money at the mall. It cheaper to drop them off at school and let them play on the computer and they a little safer at school. Tax Payers cover that expense.

I don't think it's legal for kids that age to be unsupervised. It's probably neglect or something like that. There are child molesters and predators all over the place and I know I wouldn't feel safe with my child unsupervised.
