Also, by age 1 how many teeth did they have? And which teeth were they?

My son is eight months old and already has all four of his front teeth. And he seems to possibly be teething again. His doctor has already told us that she is rather amazed he has gotten all four of front teeth already. I was just wondering if this is really strange or not.

I think it is horrible because the child will be raised in a abnormal way whether the child likes it or not.

My daughter is 19, and lives at home while attending college. Her first year was less than stellar (in polite terms!), and we told her that if that continued we would withdraw any financial support for college. Generally, she is a good kid, but lacks motivation. She has always worked part-time, but in November accepted a full-time position, and just informed me that she is planning to only go to school part-time. (This to me is her way of saying - my fall grades are gonna be bad!). I am pretty angry about this. She lives in my home, we support her, and she just up and decides to go to part-time? We were not happy about the full-time work, and told her that from the get go. I just think she is wasting an opportunity for an education, and it's not like she "needs" the money - she blows it on clothes and shoes!
Am I right to be ticked off or is she right to say she is an adult and can make her own decisions? (Granted in my book adults have BILLS!!!)

Let me start by saying that in general my in laws are very nice people.
However, I have a problem with my mother in law undermining me when it comes to my 1 year old son. She has always told me it's a grandmothers perogative to spoil the grandchildren. Which I agree with to a point.
However, particularly when it comes to food, my mother in law does not listen to me. When ever we visit she tries to give him "snacks" (he eats 3 meals a day and 1 snack a day, he doesn't need more snacks). When I say he doesn't need them, she gives them to him anyway. The worst was last night. To make a long story short, I said, "no pie for Vincent, since he didn't have a good dinner" My mother in law got him to eat some greenbeans and said he's eating and I said doesn't matter, because he didn't eat a normal meal. She ignored what I said and fed him pie. I said no pie at least 3 more times and she blatently ignored me and kept feeding him.

Any suggestions please? It is not a 1 time thing.

I am finally getting married to the man I prayed for! He has a son (didn't pray for him) whom he has gotten custody of.....also living with us. I don't have any kids of my own so this is the test. His child is just evil to everyone....and let me add spoiled from the family he was living with prior to coming with us. Now he thinks he can get away with murder!!!! His son is starting to affect my fiance and my relationship. We still have that love but sometimes I feel something is missing. There are just days where I can not look his child in the face for the things he says and does. And he still has the nerve to want hugs, compliments, and kisses from me after disrespecting my family on a recent visit, just to introduce him to them. And YES his father does discipline him everytime he steps out of line 24/7. What are some (professional) things I can do so that this child's behavior doesn't push me away from the one man I truely love?

I read this young lady's question and every other friggen answer
was"spank her" or "give them a beating". wtf? I don't feel there is a single reason to spank one's kids anymore. I thought we were a little more modern as a country, but i guess I was wrong. So my question to you all is, do you have children? and if you do, have ever spanked/do you currently spank your kids, and do you feel that this way of parenting is effective.

I have friends who are both white but the guy has a low sperm count. They want to use donor sperm and are considering using the sperm of someone who is black. Because in the UK, people that donate sperm are completely anonymous, you don't see any photos of them so you can't tell if they are really really ugly. So because they feel that black people and mixed race are generally more attractive and healthier than most white Europeans they think their baby will be given better characteristics. They consider themselves not to be racist at all and have friends from many nationalities and they have traveled around the world.

Is it too idealistic or could it work given the right circumstances?

Throwing a birthday/slumber party for my soon to be 12 year old. Most of the girls coming are a year older than her. (They are all in 7th grade). What would be a good party favor for them? Since there are 8 of them - I only want to spend about $5.00 each. Please - don't suggest nail polish - as I don't want it all over my house. Other than that - I'm open!

My husband told me this morning that our newly 16 yo daughter was up until 2a.m. last night on My Space.

He said that every time he walked into her room she minimized.

He's not big on privacy invasion, which doesn't help us.

We share custody of her.

We have her every other weekend.

There is NO support at her Bio-Mom's.

I have some skills and the ability to get into her account.

Should I?

I've been hearing various people including my sig, and various posters say that if you are smart, attractive and can "afford" to have children, (and are good with children) then it is selfish not to have them. Someone please explain this to me. It really doesn't make sense to me. I thought children were supposed to be some big joy, not something you feel obligated to do. or is it that no one particularly wants to have children, just simply makes the best of them when they arrive?

I have an 8 year old son healthy and fit a bit over weight but very active goes to bed 8pm every night, but he wakes up and gets out of bed any time from about 5am onwards, he then can be grumpy and moody with his brother and me. I just cant understand why he gets up so early. his bed is really comfy he crawls into most night where he is so tired. When he does get up early he is very quiet and wont disturb anyone so i am not aware all the time of when he is up

A 53 yr old grandmother gained custody of her grandson, when her daughter (20 yrs old) died, suddenly, in a car accident. There were other capable family members who would have taken the boy in (he was 3 when it happened). But the grandmother is on disability, and she's not very bright (when asked what 'country' she lived in, one time, she didn't know)....but I worry that this woman is not fit to raise this child, because she's not very supportive of what he needs. She yells at him and does not have a civil conversation with him. She only knows how to bark commands at this poor kid, and even Social Services is blind to this, and rather than go through the paperwork in having a stable family take him in, they passed the boy onto her.
I don't feel comfortable with him living there, because he's making his own decisions, and taking off (he's 6 yrs old now), and he doesn't listen very well, and is always in trouble in school! Is it just me, or is the system failing this boy???

I've babysitted many kids. Some good and some bad. I've found that the bratty ones with superiority complexes seem to have parents that don't discipline them. My question is, why don't their parents just discipline them? I've seen some parents of bratty kids discipline them by saying "don't do that", but then they don't follow up with it so the kid continues to misbehave. Don't the parents know that the kids drive everyone crazy? Why do the parents just let their kids walk all over them? It almost seems like they'd let them get away with murder. For example, I once had to babysit some awful kids who threw food and feces everywhere. When the parents came back, they saw their kids misbehaving and they didn't discipline them, they just said, "Hey kids, we missed you!" and gave them kisses and hugs. What's up with that?
