I'm not really sure how you could say that a Homosexual couple will raise a child in an "abnormal" way that makes absolutely no sense at all, what is abnormal in your eyes? A Homosexual couple is just as capable, if not more capable, then any straight couple of raising a child! I think that it is perfectly normal for a Gay or Lesbian couple to adopt a child. A persons sexual affiliation doesn't determine how a child is raised. A good parent whether they are Homosexual or not should encourage and guide a child according to their moral beliefs and values. If those are not in place in the parent, then they will not be in place in a child and that is true whether you are gay, straight, white, black, orange with purple polka-dots, whatever!

Gays and Lesbians are normal people just like everyone else and are entitled to all the same freedoms that straight people have. To deny them otherwise is a violation of their human rights and above all that it is a despicable way to treat another human being!

Well it's that or be adopted by the family that is convinceing at being normal but really does nasty things the child can't talk about because the family is so wonderful at covering up.

So the question is would you rather a child be raised by a TRUTHFUL couple or by some shady unstable family that most likely will molest them. Since the Gay Couple is a Couple,.. they already found themselves in sexuality and I would say would not abuse or molest the child. The closet case pretend normal family on the other hand,.. who knows.

And to be honest it's usually the screwed up enviornment [pretending to be all perfect and hideing everything] that wins because the best choice isn't rich, perfect, and fakeing what the government/organization is seeking. The Gay couple already is out of the closet about their secret life so I'd say they are best or second best depending on the child.

You know what? There are who knows how many thousands of children out there in this country and others that are starving and homeless with nothing or with no one to love them , no medical insurance, no clothes on there backs, some float through the system here for years and you are saying its Horrible for someone to adopt them because their GAY?Sorry but i think its great if a loving couple - and i really dont give a **** what their sexual orientation is - wants to and can afford to adopt a child. thats one less child suffering. homosexuality is not contagious, just because the parents are gay has no bearing on the childs eventual sexual orientation - NONE. I am straight , but I will defend anyones right to adopt a child if they can provide a loving home and a stable environment for a child to live in who came from nothing.Horrible, i think not.

No. Children don't know anything but the loving environment they feel. Trust me, as a child of a gay mother I know from experience that it may be difficult to deal with but it is much more accepted in today's society and it teaches you that people really ARE all the same regardless of skin, religion, sex, etc.

All that matters when raising a child is the love of the home and the lessons that are taught NOT the sexual orientation of the parents. Most gay parents aren't going to be "indoctrinating" their kids into a gay lifestyle. In fact, most studies show that gay couples tend to break up less than heterosexual couples (over 50% these days for heteros) and gay couples tend to be more financially stable... BOTH of these things are positives for children.

If you mean "abnormal" as in "not normal", then you have described just about every family in this country!

What is normal? Most kids today are raised in single parent households, with other family members stepping in for a co-parenting role. If what the majority is doing is normal, then a "gay" couple is doing the same thing. Just because you don't approve of the gay lifestyle doesn't make it right for you to state what is best for anyone.

Face it - you just don't like homosexuality. And that is your right - and your choice. But you can choose that. Others have the right to live their lives the way they desire, as long as they are not harming another. And I think it is wonderful that two people desire to share their love with another. Do you know how many children grow up in homes with their parents, and are abused, neglected, or even murdered? If it is a choice of a kid growing up in a happy and loving home, or a kid having to be simply in a home with two parents of the opposite sex, I would take the loving home. Too many have to grow up in their own homes with parents that could care less for them, and would rather beat their children than love them.

To choose what you view as "right" and what is in the true best interest of the child is the worst form of judgement anyone can do. And last I checked, only one gets to do the judging, and He ain't on this planet.

No, it is not inconsiderate because they can be very good parents just like anyone else, maybe even better. There are so many abnormal families in the USA, over 50% of them w/divorced parents, step-parents, single parents, and many children have emotional scarring, especially if their parents get a divorce and they are the one's suffering the most. One answer on here suggested that they would be more likely to be molested, when in fact the overwhelming majority of child molestors are heterosexual males. The child(ren) adopted by gay couples are probably more likely to be more open-minded and accepting of other people and their differences, something there needs to be more of...ESPECIALLY in the USA.

If they feel they want to adopt then they should be able to. There is no reason they should not. Guy woman have kids. Where is the difference?
Any way how is it inconsiderate???? They are giving a child a chance to have a normal life. What is the problem with that?????

the phrase 'abnormal' does not actually apply to homosexuality. Yes, it is a minority condition (much like left-handedness), but it is not in itself 'abnormal'.
Left-handedness used to be considered 'abnormal' and was persecuted in centuries past. Fortunately, the 'world' has woken up to the fact that it's not. I can only hope that homosexuality will soon also be re-considered for what it is: a minority but self-contained 'normal' condition.
That said, a child could do worse than being adopted by two loving same-sex parents. He/she may be part of an awakening new social awareness which can bring with it some conflicts, but there are plenty of conflicts in hetero-sexual marriages as well.
Hopefully, the child will grow up with a more reasonable, open-minded outlook on life.

Do you think it is inconsiderate for a straight couple to adopt a child?

I don't think that it is horrible in anyway, and anyone who does has no idea what the world is really about. As long as the child is shown what love is, who cares what the circumstances are? Besides, I have yet to meet a family that does not have any "abnormalities" in anyway.
