And what was it?

What's funny is that I was always told that baby's say dada first. But my son is 3 months and he says mama. When you change his diaper he say "hi" or something that sounds just like it. Granted he says "mama" when he wants something.
What I did was ever since he was born I'd get right in his face and say "mama." I'd move my mouth real slow so he could see how I did it. I do that with a lot of words. It helps them to start speaking earlier. Babies love to be talked to. Plus call the baby by their name a lot, so they can recognize their name. I tell my son, "Ashton." and pat him on his belly. Or "Ashton's bear. Ashton's baba."

Well, excluding the typical "dada", "mama" and "hi", my daughter's first word was "puppy". She loves dogs, and will go to any dog and pet it (and she is very good - no pulling or pinching them). But right about the same time, she also said "Bob-Bob", which is Spongebob Squarepants. She loves that show, and watches it all the time. She was about a year when she said those words.

My daughter is a natural talker. She babbles all the time, and she will use anything as a pretend phone and "talk" to someone on the other end of the line. She with say something in jibberish to you, and look at you as if she asked you something, and is waiting for you to answer. My husband and I have many interesting conversations with our daughter with one side being babbling, and the other side being "really? you don't say." or "I don't think so." We will talk about whatever enters our minds, and respond to her when she "talks". But I am praying for us when she really learns to talk - the kid is never going to shut up!!!

Believe it or not
When she was six months old we were having dinner at a Friends house. I had a glass of wine. and she wanted some I told her no she said dam. I tried to cover it up. but they all heard it
I was at a jewelry party
my daughter was 7 months old at the time.
She was sitting on someones lap holding a bracelet
all of a sudden she said
whos is this?
I thought I was hearing things but everyone there responded.
She then started getting chronic ear infections. Which affected her hearing. then her speech

This sounds crazy but it is the truth, 3 months for my kid. He said mama first and 1 week later, dada, and has not ever stopped since.

My daughter was 10 1/2 months old when she said our dog's name when he walked into the room. She said it a lot after that.

She was always an early talker and speaking in sentences really young, too. I think girls usually start talking before boys do.

She was about 9 months old. We had a Disney Babies Nursery and I always pointed to the characters and said "mouse" "Dog" "Duck" ever since she could sit up. One day we were in the park and she pointed to some pigeons and said "duck". LOLOLOL Of course, I new THEN that she was a genius.. LOL

I think he was 6 or 7 months and it was Momma. (I had put him on the floor in my parents living room and left to get a bottle, the rooms were connected by a doorway he was in site the whole time. He cried and army crawled to the doorway and said momma.) Suprized the heck out of me.

He was about 15 months and he said "Da-Da". I was worried that he was a late talker, but the doctor told me that if they at least say a few words between their 2nd and 3rd birthday, they are fine!

6 months, and it was DaDa second word was No third was Shut up DaDa. It's weird though, you wait so long for them to start talking normal, and when they finally do, you just want them to shut up cause they never stop!
