I have a pumpkin patch behind my house and the other day I suddenly decided I needed a pumpkin and I didn't have time to put back clothes back on so I ran out real fast to get it and those rascals down the street took a picture of me with their cell phones. I got to get those pictures before their parents find out I've been stealing pumpkins from their patch.

i was gobsmacked tonight when i heard on the radio tonight that the government has decided to fit ALL high schools in Australia with condom vending machines. how ludricous!! what will they think of next? building special 'rooms' for them to run off and have a 'quickie' while they're at school?? i am furious at this decision!! this only encourages them, it isn't teaching them anything! what sort of morals are they setting? it's bad enough that they are 'paying' our teenagers to run away from home, they are even paying them to sue their own parents! i think this situation is getting completely out of hand and i feel that parents should be putting their foot down and demand that they hand back the job of parenting to the parents and re evaluate their system so that children who are being neglected and abused aren't being put through the wringer and ending up on the streets or in a worse situation than what they have come from. they are only putting a band aid on a very serious issue!

You all know how a turkey from the store comes with the neck still in there? If you don't know, the neck skin is basically a tube of turkey skin. Well, my oldest daugher told me that my son has recently started using the neck skin as his new foreskin. She said it doesn't look or taste anything like a real foreskin. I tried to get him to stop because it's very expensive and it must be full of ptomaine, but he is dead set on being a "true gentile." What should I do with him? Thanksgiving is coming up and this could start problems.

this child and his mother pull strings and manipulate everything to their advantage. i just found out that my husband is going to have him over christmas break, which means he will have to come to our house and wake up here chrstmas. i dont feel like i owe it to him to be santa because he put me and my family through hell. i know i have to and i will, but the fact is that i dont want to. I allmost lost my kids and went to jail because of a lie he told. and once the lie is over, the hurt and resentment doesnt just go away. i have been in school for 3 years to become a social worker. i have now dropped out because i lost my faith and trust in children. i see now that they arent ALL innocent. some are just mean and enjoy hurting people that love them. i wish i could believe again that i could change the world one child at a time. will i ever?

my husband's son was in a terrible situation w/his mother. (we thought) He said she was having sex in front of him, locking him out of the house at night, and giving him pills to make him sleep. we took this info. and gained custody. i thought he was adjusting well. his father had to go away on business and while he was gone the childs mother came to see him. to make a long story short, they filed child abuse charges on me. said i only fed my children while he watched, i cursed him and did terrible things! we gave up custody of him although it was determined that there was no evidense to back the allegations. he has sense apologised for what he did, but he wanted to live with his mom again. and she told him that when he was ready to go back with her all he has to do is say i hit him! and they would send me to jail! now i dont let him come to our house, i have other children,i cant risk his stories hurting them. my hus. sees him at his parents. how do i move past this?

I babysat my sisters 2 kids... a 2 and a half girl and 7 year old boy...the girl has to go to sleep with 2 pacifiers..one in her hand and one in her mouth and a juice cup, has to be read too and held and will not go to bed before 930 pm...then she wakes up at 2 am and will crawl in her parents bed and go to sleep..the 7 yr old boy will not sleep without the tv on. .to me, its just ridicilious!!!! my kids are 8 years old, a girl and a 9 month old boy and my kids will never sleep with me and my fiancee and let them run our lives. the other night, my 9 month old son cried in the middle of the night, i left him alone and he went back to bed within 5 minutes. please tell me nobody does what my sister and her husband do with their kids???

she was such a sweet little girl (sigh) but lately it seems like she cares nothing about her belongings, to the point where I am now making her throw away things that havent been put away.. sounds harsh i know but its honestly im at my wits end, like she just doesnt give a monkeys. The way she speaks to me is abominable and i dont let her get away with it, she gets told off then if it happens again she gets sent out of the room, ive tried praising her for being good and ignoring her bad behaviour but shes just horendous! is there such a thing as terrible 7's!?

My son is 17 mos old and he is now out of the "baby" stage where he just cries to cry but he is now starting to test us with the tantrums. How do you win these fights without feeling like a bad mom. Everytime I either let him cry or put my foot down for real I feel so guilty. Especially with the eating part, if he wants a popsicle at 9 in the morning I will give it to him, and at dinner he refuses to touch a vegetable, period. and my husband is the one who thinks we should force it and I dont. i mean how do you force a 17 month old to eat veggies without shoving them down his throat. My side of that is there are things I dont like at 26 years old and no one forces me to eat them, so why should he have to eat peas, maybe he actually doesnt like peas. What to do without being overwhelmed by guilt

My son is a happy bright 7 yr old , but has chosen to be friends with some boys in his class that are how do i say "on the wild side". He often tells me about trouble theyve been in at school fighting swearing (swearing at the teacher !) kicking balls at windows ect . Recently one of these lads has been coming in for him after school and when they go out i dread what they are getting up to. We only moved to the area recently and he doesnt know many children i think he,s excited someone wants to be his friend.ive tried saying "why dont you play with wee billy he,s a nice lad" but no , he tells me he,s got friends he likes and they have great fun (its the kind of fun that worries me!) I know everyone thinks their own children are fine but he really is a good wee lad thats never been in trouble(that i know of anyway) what do i do? id hate him to start getting into trouble just to stay in the gang.any ideas or similar experiences would be appreciated.

How do you get a 2 year old to blow her nose. I try to explain it to her but she just sniffs the boogies back up instead of blowing it out. She just turned so its hard to explain the concept of blowing to her. Any good ideas?

My 15 year old son is very smart and under a lot of pressure in school. He has had str8 A's all of his life and has never had a discipline problem. Lately due to all of the pressure on him to keep up his good grades he has become very violent towards me. He has cursed me out several times. He has also began beating me and spitting in my face. One night he beat me using my own personal collection of whips and chains. My jaw was broken, I had two black eyes and I was unable to walk for a week. My husband says its not a big deal because he is just going through a rough time and sometimes in life we all have to be someone's punching bag. Should I allow my son to continue to beat on me or should I bribe him to stop??

Excuse me, but why do people quote the bible at me when I ask them a question on this website. How would you like it if I started quoting “See Spot Run” at you? They are both fake books? I would like it if people would keep their personal beliefs at home instead of on the internet. Not everyone believes in the bible as they no longer believe in Norsian mythology. Who else is sick of this?

To ensure the child is brought up in a good environment with decent manners and morals by the parents. Surely, if you're decent parents (note the plural), you wouldn't object. Adoption and foster agencies carry out rigorous checks, why not the same for people wanting to be parents?
I see fat, scruffy kids going to school each morning eating their packet of crisps for breakfast, swearing profusely, abusing other people. In the evenings there's packs of them, who are supposed to be at the youth club, maurauding the streets and swilling beer and cider and making a nuisance of themselves. I always think to myself "What's the parent(s) like?"
Almost every other level of high responsibility includes a licence, screening or a test these days. - driving, teaching, nursing, trading, even owning a dog or firearm. Parenting is THE biggest responsibility.
I know I'm going to be slated for this question, but would like to see the reaction. Remember folks it's just a question!

I've seen him get in trouble for hitting another kid, and today he hit my son who is 5 in the back and punched him in the leg just because he wanted my son to take this little girl's toy to the basketball court when her mother told them not to take her toy out of the specific area, my son told him no because the lady said not to, and that's when he attacked him; my son hit him back though.

I've heard this kid who is 6 years old tell his mom he hates her and she said, "No one cares" and the dad just said, "Don't talk like that." not in a demanding tone either.

I am so mad even though my son got his lick back, his leg is still hurting. I don't want him to hang around him anymore but I don't want him to want to be around him more because of the fact that I don't want him to play with him anymore. I asked my son did he want to still be his friend and he said he didn't know.

I explained to him that friends may disagree but they don't hit eachother. What do you all think?

there was a question several days ago asking people how much they spend on their kids, and the average answer was inexcess of 800-1000usd per child. that is about 500-650 Uk pounds.
personally, i buy things for my daughter through out the year, which i am sure most people do for their kids, and this christmas will not be spending more than 50 pounds. if i had alot of money perhaps i would spend more buying a one off expensive present. but the impression i get is that these kids will be getting ALOT of toys as well as clothes which are probably more expensive than they need to be.
so my question is really... why do parents feel it is necessary to spend so much money? what kind of lesson does it teach their kids apart from glutany? if parents are giving to their kids through out the year, why should suddenly at christmas do they go over board, surely the giving should be proportional through out the year? is this spending more to do with the parents than it is to do with the kids?

I want to ask all of you mothers a simple to the point question. Picture this... your 2 year old is sick and in the hospital. No one knows why he's sick. He's on IV's and oxygen, and flips out whenever a nurse walks into the room. Would you consider leaving him there alone and going home? My sister in law did, and I'm beyond furious. Could I be overreacting?

I am a little worried about my sixteen year old daughter. She watches cartoons like Spongebob Squarepants, Fairly Odd Parents and children-oriented shows like Drake and Josh and Lizzie McGuire. I am absolutely fine with that - I enjoy a classic cartoon every now and then myself. But that's ALL she watches! Her peers watch shows like Friends, The OC, Gilmore Girls, MTV, Sex and the City etc. But those shows bore her. After twenty minutes of giving a different show a try, she reverts back to watching Rugrats. I don't want to stifle her - but she is an only child, has no friends, has poor social skills and has very little interaction with people her age. Should I be concerned that she's 16 and ALL she watches are shows meant for the 12 and under group?
