I taught my 20 month old son by accident, he-he. I was blowing my nose one day while he was curiously hanging onto my every move. He then started to get some Kleenex & putting it to his nose he would sniff. I worked with him on breathing out his nose. Now when he has a runny nose, I ask him if he needs to blow his nose, of course he replys with a head shake yes. I guess he thinks it's a game or just that he can do it.

Have her place her hand in front of her nose while she is breathing out of it so she can get a feel of which direction to go and tell her to breath really hard out of her nose when she has boogies stuck up there, with a tissue in hand of course.
It's very difficult, I remember all too well, and can be frustrating as well when your kid is sick and you just want to do everything to her her feel better. You should still use the 'nose plunger' every once in a while until she gets the hang of it, but not all the time, only when absolutely necessary. Patience, she will get it though it may take a while, it will happen.

Ask her to blow out a candle. Then ask her to blow it out with her nose (when she doesn't have a cold, of course) Maybe that will make the concept hit home better.

My baby will be 2 in Feb and she knows how to blow her nose. At first I would be really frustrated with her trying to get her to do it. Then one day I handed her a tissue (really just tryin to keep her occupied) and I blew my nose and next thing you know she was tryin with hers. So from then on I tell her to blow her nose and she does. Just try and be patient with her and she'll get it soon enough. Children sense when we are frustrated. Good Luck!

Geating Ur daughter to Blow her noes. Teach her to Blow first, then practice blowing alternating mouth to noes and so on. Get her to close her mouth when she trys blowing through her noes. Then keep practising until she understands. Good game to play! First blow the kleenex w/ mouth trying to keep it up in air, next try blowing w/ noes to see how far up in air U can get it too go.

How about showing her with bubbles. instead of using your mouth try blowing bubbles with your nose. Might give her the idea.

I told me son to blow (He's 2) and he didn't want to so I got out the nasal aspirator and all of a sudden he loves blowing his nose....he HATES the nasal aspirator. When I told him to blow he would blow out of his mouth and I told him no..out your nose, and he got it right away.

you have to work with them. have them blow air from their mouth and make it a game to try and blow air from their nose. I always used one of the sucky things to get the snot out of the nose until she figured it out.
