Stress at home, stress at work. Has there been any major changes in your household recently? If your mom is close to age 40, she could be starting the change of life (menopause) and that can make a woman very cranky. She may need to go see a doctor for some medication. I had to go on anti-depressants and they worked wonders with my mood. I guess look at what your mom does around the house and at her job and see if maybe you could give her a hand. Sometimes things just get overwhelming and we take it out on the people closest to us.

Have you cleaned your room, helped her fold the clothes, taken out the trash as ask, brought home acceptable grades, stop hanging with those friends that she's told you weren't any good for you? If you've answered all of these questions with a yes there's no need to worry about if you're doing something wrong it's time to help and sooth her. It's probably money issues, marriage problems, cramps, etc and the best thing that you can do if it's a thing like this is just simply ask "MOM IS THERE ANYTHING THAT YOU NEED ME TO DO" plus by doing this will let her no you're more responsible than what she thought and I bet you'd get more privileges.
