I am for spanking....so long as it is discplinary..not abusive. If you are ok with spanking...I guess the next question is...who can do it? I am a firm believer of parents only..

I am not sure if this is Pre Puberty, any moms with this similar situation? She has been leaking like a goopy, whitish, yellowish, fluid, looks like urine but a thicker consistency and she says that it doesn't burn? I am wondering if it is the beginning of her menestral cycle, she has been very emotional for over 1 month and I mentioned to my spouse that she could be starting. He is in denial and told me to call the Dr. to see if they could give her something to stop it. I told him that he was nuts. She said she changed her undies like 3 times in one day, so I looked at them and sure enough each one was the same. So I am so confused because she is so young.

Our 10 years old son (only child) does almost everything backwards or according to him "He doesn't like being pushed" I mean if I'd ask him to do something or suggest we go somewhere his response is almost always NO. I spend a lot of time with him "bonding" going to water park, movies or playing soccer under the rain, etc. Still when I ask him for a small favor it's always "NO". Or if I want to show him the right way of doing something he says no I want to do it my way (backwards) I mean I love him, but it's so frustrating... I understand that it's something normal for this age, but this was happening since he was born.
How do you deal with this "NO" thing?

Last night, my pregnant girlfriend and I were watching an old home movie of her family and a little baby girl had her ears pierced. She was about a month old. I said that was crazy. My girl said that thats what our baby, should it be a daughter will also have. I severely objected and said that she should be a teenager before that happens. We got to talking about makeup and she thinks that a girl should wear makeup as a preteen. I think she is going to raise our child, if its a girl, to be a little whore like all these other girls out there these days. My sister didnt wear makup until she was 17 and didnt have her ears pierced until she was like15. She turned out to be a great girl and didnt rebel or anything. Yeah the other girls were all wearing them and my sister hated it, but she didnt lose her virginity until she was at least 17. I would prefer that as a parent rather than prep them to get married and knocked up as a preteen. Thoughts?

when your children talk constantly about the other parent when they are in your care? (Daddy bought me this, daddy did that, daddy's dating so-and-so, daddy took me here, daddydaddydaddy...) My daughter is 4 - how can I get her to realize the time she spends with me is important also? We have 50/50 shared custody.

Our son is 9 and a half months old. He has just learned how to pull himself up onto things, so to play it safe, we lowered his crib mattress to the lowest position. Now he REFUSES to be in his crib. We still follow the same routine every day, and everything is still in it's original place in his crib (except the mattress level of course). He usually take three naps a day (25-45 minutes each) and is in bed for about 7:30 at night....These bed/nap times take him over an hour to fall asleep...he just cries.
Has anyone esle recently gone through this? What are some suggestions to make this transition easier for all of us?

P>S> I have tried to not put him down for a nap...and even tried a later bed time...he is truly tired when I put him in his crib, and I don't want him to think that if he cries long enough, I will go get him. He always used to fall right to sleep once he was put into his crib.

In the UK extra wide parking spaces are available to make it easier to get a baby in and out of a car seat. They are usually parked in by single people without children or parents with children of about 11 or 12 years of age!

It's a law that everyone must wear seatbelts in a car, why not on a bus? We let a complete stranger drive our children around and they don't even have to wear seatbelts! I find this very disturburbing.

I don't know why I can't focus and think like I use to. Sometimes I don't feel like I'm in reality. I feel like I'm in a dream! After I had my child, I started to feel this way! I know 2 other ladies who say the same thing. Does anybody know what is going on?

Supose you are the father. Your birthday is tomorrow. Your son gives you today a touching bday gift and the weekly school report which is very bad ( 2 tests failed and behaivour complains) Normaly you would punish him severly for it. Will the touching gift make you not do that ?

He is retaking in summer school 3 subjects he failed . The bad report is due to not trying hard enough and just messing around

She is 11 months old. If I nurse her she will sleep until 7 or 7:30. She isn't that hungry because she only nurses for about 3 minutes before falling back asleep. If I don't go in there she will cry and throw her blankie out, which caused her to cry even more. Why has she started doing this? She used to sleep until 7:30 without this extra feeding.
