As long as the box says it's ok to give it to a child that age (whatever that may be) and it's given according to the manufacturer's instructions, it shouldn't be harmful. But if you're just using it for sleep, Children's Benadryl should do the same thing without all of the other medications that are in NyQuil.

No do not give him NyQuil. There are other options for getting a child to sleep. You have the Lavender Johnson and Johnson products that help a child calm down and sleep. Plus that child can tell an adult and they can tell a social worker and you could be in big trouble.

Nyquil has more alcohol in it than a bottle of wine. A teenager could probably take a portion of a dose if they needed it, and only if they had a bad cold. You might was to consider other options. Speak to your doctor, maybe he can give you some advice.

Back in the day, people used to give their children wine and brandy to put them to sleep too. Try that now and see how fast your child gets snatched away.
I don't recommend giving a child anything to aid them in sleeping. I would only give my child NyQuil if he were ill and NEEDED it. The best way to get your child to sleep is to keep him/her active during the day. My son zonks out after a day of splashing in the water, running in the park, chasing a ball. And the best part is there are no side effects.

Good Lord, Alot of people give meds so that a child will go to sleep!!@ Nyquil is an adult medicine. Just b/c your mom did that to you, please don't do it to your kid. Be a parent and take care of your child. Don't give medicine so that you don't have to deal with him.

That is terrible to medicate a child just so they will sleep and yes it is bad to give someone medication when they don't need it. I can't believe some people these days.....
