My 6 yr. old little girl, has a friend that is a boy in our neighborhood. He made her take her pants down, she was humiliated and ashamed when she came to me. I am so overwhelmed with anger and disgust with that boy. I told my little girl it was not her fault and that she did nothing wrong, but I am consumed with this incident. I have forbidden her from being around this child, but I have a 10 yr. old that plays with that boys older brother. I dont know what I should do. I can't trust that boy around my daughter and I am not sure if I should forbid my son from being around the older child too.??

It could be Cheerios and goldfish to gummy bears and french fries. Why is it so neccessary for these kids to constantly have food before them while they are in a stroller?

The reason I ask is that I've been collecting parenting books and magazines ever since I got married, hoping that soon we'd have a baby. Well, I'm still waiting for my dream to come true so I've been faithfully holding on to them. But now, I'm wondering if they need to be tossed. Of course I know that the internet is full of resources and I try to stay current, even learning all about elimination communication and things like that, but sometimes it's just nice to have things in print. My question is, being that my printed material doesn't have the latest parenting info, is it of any value? I know I have to have the very latest information on things like safety, but what other types of info go out of date quickly? I guess another way to ask is this...moms - what's the oldest parenting material you've felt comfortable using?

I tried using a onsie on her to keep her diaper on while she slept, and it worked for a while until last night. She over came that obstacle. I was very shocked to see her all wet in her onsie with out a diaper on. Anyone have kind of advice on potty training? Or any advice period. I welcome all serious advice, No JOKES!!!

Don't you think they are way too young to date? Or even to group date for that matter??? What is so wrong with making them wait until they are at least 16. Were you allowed to date at that age?

I will not allow my kids to date, group date or do anything else for that matter until they are 16. No ifs, buts, mights or maybes about it.
I am will also ( my son is 3 & I have 1 due in Dec.) teach my kids that sex out of marriage is wrong & bad. They will learn that there is no need for it outside of a marriage. They will learn about birth control also. If they choose to disobey me they will be responsable for them selves. Sex is an adult act and they will have to get there own birth control with their own money. And if they or if they get some one pregnant. They will be forced to move out of our house and get a job and marry the person. We will not give them a cent. As I said. Sex is an adult act. If they choose to have it then they need to grow up & be responceable for everything

I know that my stepson has some issues, we have him in counceling and I am really trying to be patient with him but after being smartmouthed for the uptenth time the other day I blew up. I layed down the law with him and let him know that I would not tolorate the way he talked to me. He had something to say every time I paused. I told him I was tired of being "mom" when he wanted something and being just his dads wife when he was in trouble or being told to do something. He made it very clear that he only had one parent in this house: his dad. I said fine. A little later I was mom again when he wanted something. I told my husband about this argrument and he had a talk with my stepson and told him he was to appologize to me. He never did. I am tired of him playing both sides of the coin. I am feeling used. One day I am "mom" and the next I am the wicked step mother. Any advice from other step moms?

In a world where it's so hard to trust people, this another blow.

Although I've been on the site myself since Tom created it as a teenager and careful, I would of dismissed the thought of it being dangerous until I read an article of a girl being raped and killed who would be my age currently :|

However after reading requests from 10 year olds to date on yahoo answers, this has to go out to the parents, friends and loved ones for those who know the most innocent, naive and vulnerable that use sites.

The net can be a great place put it has it's downsides with severe consequences.

This incident happened a year ago a young girl was raped and murdered by a man she met on myspace. There have been countless incidences with children being lured and raped in their home to identity theft to name the least. The scariest part of this is, she was my age, thought she knew better but fell into the palms of the creature she met. Take heed.

I catch myself trying to force him into putting some clothes on but he has a strong will to continue running around our house without any clothes on. Is this normal for a young boy?

I have three children, and I wanted more, but my husband said "absolutly not". So when my best freind got pregnant, I lived it with her. When the baby was born, I was there, and since I was the Godmother, they let me name her. I had her at my house, it seems, more than she was at home. And when she started calling me mom, I didn't stop her. Of course now she is 5 and dosen't call me that anymore. I still feel as though she is my daughter. I know this is not healthy. I t makes me very sad that I couldn't have another child. Please don't recommend therepy. Mt children are all teenagers now. And though I am too old to have a child, I can't get over the fact that she is not mine. I have been there for all of her firsts. I want her to be mine. It just really breaks my heart. Please only give advice that is helpful

I am a foster mom to 6 kids, we use time out, positive reinforcement, goals, charts etc. In the past I have come up with some good ideas like "hug fest" two kids who are fighting having to stand and give each other hugs for five minutes. Or taped X's on the floor for them to sit on, just close enough to have to deal with each other but far enough away so they can not touch. The kids are older now, 9, 6, and 5 being the main ones. One will not follow directions at all, will leave messes all over and no matter how many times you show her she still does the same thing. One has melt downs and will hit the other kids, then runs up stairs and hides on the top bunk of the triple bunk bed, then will not come down for his punishment. The last nothing seems to phase him! Nothing you do works! He does not care! I have tried taking TV away, the pool, the toys, outside, everything!

I appreciate any ideas!!!

Thanks
Pamir
