She was more moody then normal, had tried weed in the past and cigerettes, so her Mom decided to test her every so often, well she just failed both the Marijuana (pot) test and the Nicotine (Cigerette) test. Is grounding her for the whole summer a good way to handle it?

My step-son came over to spend the rest of the summer with us but we didn;t see him since christmas due to the distance where he & us live. The problem is the clothes he had from last summer doesn't fit anymore so we pass it out to one of my little cousins, his mom send him with the only clothes he had on& the oldest shoes he has ,cuz that's the way she has being like this for the last 4 yrs., so we went & buy him new clothes. The thing is he can't take back home the new clothes cuz his mom doesn't allowed for him to take it, she says she will not allowed for him to wear it.... so we usually keep them in his closet but kids grow up so fast & for next year he might not be able to fit in them like it had happend before (he os 10) & some clothes he does love & would like to take home but we know she will not allowed for her to put it on, so what to do do I keep passing on the clothes or re-sale it... I feel bad for him cuz he is the one in the middle of thissituatuion,it is not fair4him.

I'm not talking about doing more for one then the other. I'm talking about things like babing your little girl when she falls, but telling the little boy to stop crying. Or not wanting your teenage daughter to have a boyfriend, but yet thinking it's okay for your 10 yr old son to have a crush.

We were sitting at the baby pool during "break". I saw this young lady about 10 years old shove her younger brother into the wading pool. He fell backwards, and when he got up you could tell he was upset and then started to cry. She then proceeded to grap him by his life jacket and drag him out of the pool, once she did that she started dragging him towards a picnic table behind me. When I turned around I saw her slapping him in the head, and he was protesting and you could tell he was upset. I had to speak up. I told her she needed to stop what she was doing and that it wasn't acceptable behavior. SHe told me "He's my brother!" and I told her that I really didn't care who he was to her, that it was not acceptable behavior no matter what. She just glared at me. All this time I was wondering where the parent(s) was/were. After break I took my kids back to the pool where I saw the mom on her cell phone. Would you have done the same?

SHe is 7 months old. Obviously it has to be a hygienic and reputable place. EVERYONE keeps insisting she has her ears pierced as if I am doing her some great dis-service by not piercing them! Sheesh! Anyway, rant over. Back to the question.

I mean OTHER than being a mother. Any women start their own successful companies, have high-flying careers, travel around the world, write a book, direct a film, build an orphanage in India?

Real people that you know please, not celebrities.

I want to know if it is possible to still do something worthwhile and meaningful with your life if you have kids; other than be a mother obviously which is worthwhile, but is not the only worthwhile thing in life.

I have loads of things that I want to do with my life and I want to know if I have to give up all my hopes and dreams to meet my boyfriend's dream of having a family. I want him to live his dreams, but I think mine are important too.

I might add she has a 12month old 4x4, but feels I should change my car for people carrier or estate.
Do you need two big cars for one little baby? Is there anything wrong with still owning a 2 seater and having a baby? Am I being selfish?

I'm 2 months pregnant and i've been with my b/f for 7 months now, he's seems happy but im not. At times he just annoys me and i know it's probably because im pregnant (this is my second child so i know) but i cant help it. With my first child i didnt have no one else to help me i was a single parent and i liked it that way! Now i feel like i have to stay with my b/f. Should i? Have you ever been in my situation? Do you think i'll regret breaking up with him when the baby comes? I just want us to be friends for right now but im not sure if im making the right choice.
