I really like that people got back to me so quickly. I wanted to say that I do have my daughter in therapy and just waiting for her to start going. We had the first meeting just waiting for them to be in contact. We are really trying hard to keep things together, but it is so hard at times. My ex husband believes that I am doing this to punish him, but that its true. I go to see my lawyer this afternoon. I am hoping that he can put things in a better light. He is one of the best lawyers around here. He is a bit of a hard *** but that can be a good thing. I know it will be expensive but what ever it takes I am willing to do. My ex husband was a really abusive man and since I left him things have not gotten much better. I have recently gotten married and I know that pisses him off. He tried to control everything and now he can't so I believe he is scared. But I will be back on after my appt. to let everyone know. Thanks Tanya

When she doesnt get what she wants, she reacts by a small hit on the arm, or scratching, or saying, " I never.....!"

She has speech impairment and had PDD to note.

Any advice?
When she does this we say you do not hit, that is not nice. Then place her in time out.

Im 19, hes 25. we have a son together and he has a child from a previous relationship. I dont want another child, to be honest i didnt want any at all. dont get me wrong, i love my son, i just dont want another child. he keeps saying how he wants to try for a girl since he has two boys. what if we have another son? i understand that every father wants a little girl to cling to him. but its just not for me. we cannot provide for another child financially, even though he insists, and knowing myself, i would not have the patience for another child. my son is just reaching a yr old and my husband keeps trying to talk me into getting pregnant again. its very painful to go through, its uncomfortable, and its an experience that i do not want to go through again. i just want the child that i have. i have tried everything, from holding out to giving two hour speeches on how another child is not the best for us, does anyone know anything worth saying to him to make him step back and see?

Im trying to figure out what the implications are for a father in the USA who is paying child support for his kids (2 girls) but has arrears due to career transitions and all. I understand he is not able to leave the country (he says); they wont let him do that while he is paying child support? I dont understand how this works and how long you keep being barred from travelling? He is very much a part of his kids' lives and he has them every summer. Can you actually get a passport while your owe child support money? Please shed some light.

my son will be 4 soon. he talks to strangers, runs right up to them!!!people try giving him toys and candy and he doesn't even blink before reaching out to take something. I've talked to him about NOT talking to strangers or taking things from people he doesn't know. he just doesn't understand and I don't want him to be terrified of people, just cautious.. why do people lately think it's alright to give a kid anything without asking the parent first. should I tell these people, no thanks- we don't talk to strangers or take things from strangers?? will that help him understand???

Hello. My 30 yr old daughter is getting married and well its making me nervous. Im her dad and shes my "little girl" and I feel like I'm losing her. She still lives at home we're very close. Don't get me wrong she doesn't mooch off me. Shes a lawyer and very smart and independent. She pays rent and her own way. But we're comfortable enough to live together.

We would come home from work and I would rub her feet and she would tell me about her day. We would have dinner together. We'd take vacations together.

But after she gets married she'll be doing all those things with her husband! Not me.

How do I get over losing her and no longer being #1

She likes to ask for other people's stuff and when I tell her she should not do that then she says well it's only (whatever it may be).Like it's just a minor thing. And I know darn well the person does not want to give it to her. (It makes for a very aquard moment!) But she does not understand that just because it's not important to her does not make it important to the other person and she should not ask for stuff that belongs to other people. I'm trying to get her to see that she does not have the right to judge the importance of things that belong to other people because it's not hers, it's theirs. Does this make sanse? I guess I am not wording it the right way for her to understand. Can you help???

I'm a career woman and planning to have some babies, but I don't feel like giving up first years of my growing babies into someone else's hands. The idea is horrifying me. However, quitting my job can give a serious effect on our family finance. is there any smart solutions besides quitting my job?

From my understanding, a baby has to be 20 lbs. to be in a forward facing car seat, but my friend told me that you can get a ticket if your baby's feet touch the back of the seat. My baby is only 16 lbs. but her feet do touch the back of the seat. Does that mean that I need to put her in a forward facing seat already, or does my friend not know what she is talking about?

My daughter will be a year old on July 18th and she still hasn't gotten her first tooth. Her pediatrician doesn't seem to think its a big deal. But I'm starting to worry. I know it's hereditary, and I didn't get my first tooth untill i was 11 months. Im just worried because I am due in August, and I just hope she doesn't get a tooth right after I have the baby! Can anyone empathize with me?

My parents have gotten away with not immunizing me until now. I'm 15 now and about to begin high school. The high school won't let me in without them. I have never had a single vaccination before. I need to know:
1. How many dr. visits do I need to go to for shots?
2. How many shots will they give me at each visit?
3. Do they hurt much?
4. Does it hurt really bad to get multiple shots?

I put it in parenting cuz parents should know best.

I am really upset, my son's school has said that he told them that my husband and I have been hitting him.
We have loved him so much and done all we can for him - I breastfed him till 18 months, gave him home made organic food, I travel quite far to send him to a good school.
He is doing well educationally and has lots of home support and extra activities such as tennis that he enjoys and I pay for.
I have two other children who have never said this.
My son, who is 5, has told me that his teacher told him that she has a little bird who can see through the windows of all the children's houses and she knows that we are hitting him. It seems as if he is egged on to say things, he can be attention seeking and this brings him attention.
We are really shocked, my husband is devastated. Now and again my son does have scrapes and bruises, including a black eye a few months ago from a fall on the bedpost. He tells me the school have examined him. What should I do now?

I have full custody of her because he didn't bother to show up for court. He asks her questions about me and talks bad about me. He hasn't paid a dime in support for over 2 years. My daughter says she misses her father but I hate to have to deprogram her after her visit.
