Any age. My daughter is 3, and has attended since just after her first b-day. I didn't take her when she was 2 months old - mainly because I couldn't stay up that late!!! Seriously, at 2 months might be pushing it (they can't see too far away from their noses at first), but I wouldn't hesitate if the child seems to enjoy watching activity.
I am a big advocate of preparing a child for new experiences, so I would recommend that you tell your child that it's going to be dark and loud, but that it's very pretty, and _______ (Mommy/Daddy) will be there with her and wouldn't bring him/her if it wasn't going to be great fun!

My kids saw their first fireworks show when they were just 6 months old. Frankly, watching a fireworks display and hearing all those loud sounds at a distance, wouldn't harm a child in the long run. It takes a lot of common sense for us parents to stay at a comfortable distance and let our kids watch the wonderful display of colours. Also, this is a good platform to check on our kids' sense of hearing.
Overall, anyone at any age can watch a fireworks display. But of course, we simply have to use our common sense if our kids don't want to watch it 'cause they're scared of it or maybe yet, one has a newborn or a month old baby who is just developing his / her inner ear. Well, we know the limits and we know our children far too well than others.

Well, we have a five month old and a three year old that we are taking to a firework show , and I expect to have the baby on my lap and in my arms the whole time. Some babies don't mind loud noises and some really don't like it.
When my oldest was about a year old he had to sit on my lap and then enjoyed watching the fireworks.
I figure if the baby can sleep threw the fireworks while we are at home then he should be okay tonight.
Happy 4th of July

I'd say you could try it at age 2, but be ready to make a hasty retreat if the child gets frightened by the noises. I also worry about bringing small children to public fireworks shows where there are rowdy crowds who are drinking and out of control. One year we got stuck near a bunch of drunks who arrived at last minute and blocked everyone's view. They picked fights with anyone who asked them to move. So I'd make sure that the show you attend is family-friendly.

4 or 5 before that many children become very scared of the loud noises and it is also a bit late when it gets dark to keep a really young child up for a fireworks show it is soooo easy to get them off their schedule at this age and they really do need their sleep

I have learned the younger the better.
They love the colors at even a young age. And I learned the hard way it is easier to calm a scared toddler than it is a scared older child!
If they are scared of the noise they will be scared of it at any age not just as babies!

Any age my children have gone since they were born. One of them was born 4 days before the 4th. The earlier the better if you don't want them to be sheltered from loud sounds.

I took my daughter when she was 4 months old and she was hardly phased by it. However, I have a feeling my now 6 month old son would not like it. I think you have to know your children and how they react to things. Use your judgment and do what you think is best.
