I might add she has a 12month old 4x4, but feels I should change my car for people carrier or estate.
Do you need two big cars for one little baby? Is there anything wrong with still owning a 2 seater and having a baby? Am I being selfish?

well, it really depends on who is taking care of the baby. I would never take the baby in that two-seater whatever you decide. It is much more dangerous for a baby to sit in the front seat of any vehicle. if you don't plan on having to use your car with the baby, then keep it. I don't think that you are being selfish, but you should be thinking about being more practical or mature about the situation, consider all of the options. If you are worried about having a cool car, that is not selfish, but there are other great looking cars that are safe for a car seat to fit in the back with tinted windows. you have plenty of options.

What if the vehicle with more than two seats breaks down and you have only the two seater to tote your family around in? My husband had to get rid of his precious two seater truck when we found out we were pregnant with our first. With having kids comes bigger responsibility. What's the big deal anyhow? Your a family man now, not a single playboy...nothing wrong with that, we all have to grow up at one time or another. There are plenty sporty looking cars out there with more than two seats and are opentop...look into that daddy!

You don't need two big cars, but a least have two cars that the baby can actually travel in.
What if you need to get the baby to hospital, and the family car is not working, how are you going to get there?
You are not being selfish, you are not thinking practically.

One big car is more than enough. Call both cars "ours" and whoever needs to take the kids out uses the 4x4 whoever needs to run errands takes the 2 seater

Don't rush into a decision as you already have appropriate transport and that's the most important factor.
It's not selfish to want to keep your car, you can be you, and a Dad at the same time.
Congratulations and Good Luck by the way.

Unless you want to use your baby as a center console, I would consider buying that practical sedan or station wagon. If the 2 seater is a convertible, then consider getting a vehicle with a sunroof or moonroof in trade.

if the 2seater is totally paid for then keep it! if you still owe on it then sell . Babys are VERY expensive and your not going to want the extra bill. paid for - keep it, still owe - sell it and get less expensive car that you can pay off quickly.one family car should be enough if it is well maintained and reliable. just be willing to let the misses drive the sport car when it's your turn to take the child out.

a practical 4 door car would do. and if you don't want to get rid of your beloved car just think of this scenario: (god forbid, i mean this in the MOST SINCERE WAY, GOD FORBID) if you get in an accident with the two seater think about access to your child. by the way.....congratulations!!!!!

You should keep the two seat car for date night.
You really only need one big car for the baby & her/his stuff.
