Make sure he is really hurting his kids. Don't report him to Child Protective Services until you have proof. Even though you are mad at him, you should think about the ultimate welfare of the kids. If you report him, there is a likelihood of him being branded and his kids taken away.

Call Social Services and report him. They will not tell him it was you that reported him. If he is hurting them they will help. If he is not at least you will know, and you cared enough to do something about it.

I know it's a hard decision, but you should consider notifying family services. Your name wouldn't have to be dragged into it, and they'll look for evidence of abuse.
Seriously, I was taken from my abusive mother by social services and it saved me from years of life in hell.

Try reporting to the child welfare dept or sumthing. But above all i suggest you stay out of it.
