I think it's a tad backwards that as a single mom, if I were irresponsible, addicted to drugs, and a complete failure, my family would not hesitate to take custody of my son. Yet as a responsible drug/disease free, tentative mom, I can barely get them to babysit for a few hours so that I can get a break. Not to justify it, but could this be what leads so many young moms to make the terrible decision to harm themselve and/or their children? Between work, school, and playing with the kids, frustration can build up if Moms don't get a break. Why doesn't anyone care until it's too late? Couldn't we decrease the amount of child abuse and murder cases if we as a community, not necessarily the government, showed some support to the many single moms out there?

I have warrants and my g/f is 4 mons. pregnat. We moved away from home becasue of this. If we move back and I take care of this issue I will miss my child being born and pro. the first part of my childs life. I am not sure how long. If we stay where we are we are both unhappy. We want our familes to be a part of the childs life. My warrants are for fleeing on probation, missing court, and prob. missing a few diffrent fine payments as welll.

I have made the decision to stop working for awhile and stay home with the children to take care of them. My wife agreed and is going to go back to work. Been working since I was 18 and currently in 40's. It's not that I can't take care of them. What should I expect in this transition?

I have recently been diagnosed w/a terminal illness, however my 2 teenagers won't talk 2 me about it all they do is yell @ me and quit telling myself anything is gonna happen. I feel their in denial and I don't blame them cause I'm a little bit 2 but they don't know that. Also the rest of my family won't discuss it as well w/me. I think it's because of the thought of me passing and that's ok cause I learned 2 deal w/that but it's very important that my children and I talk about this. I'm a young mom. Thank You.

My girl is just over 2 years and throws a fit every time I bring up "going pee or poop" on the potty. I'm not going to be one of those mothers that let their kids go until "they're ready". I'm not changing diapers before pre-school or kindergarden. She tells me before she goes, but she won"t do it if I sit her down, she begs for her pull ups and waits till their on....and she'll go for hours....and she throws a fit if i try to sit her on the potty. I've offered her everything...stickers, crayons, markers, even money to go on the potty. Now what???

We have a 7-month old baby for whom we're giving the ragi-based baby food, brand 'Silverspoon'. I've observed that when cooked in water and kept for 4 hours, its top layer has a lighter colour, much like starch. Is it hygienic to cook it in the morning and feed the baby in the evening? Are there precautions to be taken while storing this?

I can't seem to get my daughters dinner time on a regular schedule. Some days she decides she wants to eat other days she nibbles. She loves to feed herself she'll eat her fruit, and her snacks; but when it comes to dinner time it is a whole different story. She plays and spits her food out. Any sugggestions from anyone on how you handled this situation? I know all babies are not the same, she's not under weight sometimes I feel like I'm doing something wrong.

she is in a "hitting" mold where she wants to hit her mom and is now whining for things. I try to discipline by telling her NO and holding her hands down. I know this just may be a passing phase, but is worrying me as older sister who is 11 years old treats mother badly and maybe the 2 year old sees that. Any help or suggestions?
