I agree with most of the other responses. I would wait til almost 2, but introducing a potty is not a bad idea. Do remember though: boys are harder to potty train. I've seen several boys get potty trained and then they have like this period where it seemed like they refuse or forgot how to go potty on the big potty. They will go when they want to. Don't give up! But don't force it too much! I've seen a mom that really tried and tried to have her son potty trained as soon as possible and there were times when he would just cry and cry...I hope this helps...if you need to talk more let me know!

He's a bit young. Boys are usually close to three when they become potty trained. But.. introducing a potty chair now is not a bad idea. Some kids freak out about them, so introducing the chair early might help with that.
Also, you cannot force the issue with potty training. They will do it when it is right for them. When THEY are ready.

you can start now, it may be frustrating because is is younger but it can be done. it may be easier if you wait until he is 2 years old though. Some countries have their children potty trained by 9 months according to American Baby magazine. So it is possible. Here are some website to help you. I hope this helps and good luck with the potty training, patients will be your best friend.

I think 1 is to early. They do not understand the concept yet. I waited with my little boy until he was almost 2 and seemed intrested. If your little boy seems interested let him sit on the potty, but i would not push it. Most kids i know was not fully potty trained until almost 3. Every child is different though. Good luck.

Most pediatritions say NOT before 2. They are usually not able to control their bladder until then and you have to wait until they are ready anyway. Many kids take until 3 to be pully trained.

We started at 2....she just turned 3 and has recently stopped having accidents!
I think it would have been better in our case to have waited longer!!
...but some children are faster to learn or understand their body's urges!

He's a little young now....but you never know. When he starts taking an interest in the toilet, and sleeps through the night dry, that is a good indication.
