Yes! I get to have my g/children every day as their parents work full time, so I get to act 9, 11, and 14 for 6 weeks - at 9 we play board games and do lots of cooking, at 11 we're into football and cricket (oh my poor ol' back lol), and at 14 we go to stores and test make-up and try on outrageous clothes. Fun doesn't have to cost anything but time. Why, oh why do people have children if they can't wait for the hols to be over? When my children were young I hated whan holidays were over, I was the one who cried when they went back to school!
To leese - you'll get a lot more satisfaction from enjoying your children than doing housework and after the first week back at school everything is on order again. Try to remember they're only on loan to you, they grow up and leave home so fast you'll wonder where the time went

I'm at uni so I am on holidays at this moment, but I have two younger children who will break up for their summer holidays next week and me as a single mum I'm not looking forward to the rest of holidays, although most of the time they will be at after school club, and I will be on training for my knew job.

Heck NO!!
My kids are doing that right now and so far they've broken two things and are eating me out of a house and home. They're also staying up late and I have a hard time getting to sleep. They also sleep in late, so when I need to tell them something before I leave for work, I gotta STILL wake them up. I come home to a dirty house (sometimes) and other times that I haven't, it's because they've suffered the consequences from the time that I did come home to a dirty house. What else???? umm....not to mention that we've already had one medical emergency....and what else????? oh they broke the neighbors water line (it truly was an accident...but still!) They're not bad kids, they're just getting older, so I have a word of advice for parents of babies and toddlers......establish a savings account for stuff your kids break that will need to be replaced. LOL My kids had never broken ANYTHING and all of a sudden.....wham! *clicking heels three times*.....there's no place like school....there's no place like school....there's no place like school. LOL

If you want some ideas on what to do over the hols you can join this website. Plus you can give feedback on where you've been so other parents can have a look.
It says north east parents cos that's where its based but it's looking for reviews of days out an holidays all over the country.

yeah, doing all the chores that my parents and grandparents saved up for me while i was at uni is an especially tantalising prospect, as is working at the local council to make a few bucks.

My children are already off the school. It is not that bad, just make sure they have plenty to keep them entertained.
