is it really against the law here to give a misbehaving 5 year old a dose of the switch? i posted a question about it and was treated like a child molester, when in fact i'm the favourite nanny to 4 little angels who know better than to test my limits. so what i give their hinies a nice shade of red when they misbehave, it hurts their pride more then their a**! all this with full consent of their parents who would practially beg before letting me quit as the kids adore me! anyone actually AGREE with me or has seen how good this method works???

He either asks questions, or rambles on about anything and everything, and will also interrupt adult conversation to ask what we are talking about. He also doesn't pay attention some of the time when you do answer his questions. Some other children deal with it fine, but others want to strangle him. I don't know what to do...any advice is welcomed!

Since she 'blossomed' into a woman her mood swings are horrible and result in major confrontations with her mother. And it doesn't take much to trigger an event. Any suggestions?

Almost every night my 6 year old has scary dreams, usually something to do with something happening to her older or baby brother or us and she cant stop it. I don't think its an excuse to get up or into my bed as i hear her calling out while shes still asleep. Its getting so bad now she will try her hardest not to sleep as she is afraid and she believes if she says outloud 'no dreams' everynight she wont have a bad dream. I worry, what can I do?

I have a 1 year old daughter and from newborn until 1 year old I took care of her myself. Now I must get back to work and I took her to my in-laws from 8-5 everyday. I started to feel that she not bonding with me anymore, she tends to look for my in laws if she got scared, fell down or just looking for attention. This makes me feel terribly sad. What should I do ? can babies do that ? is it normal?

I'm only 23, but before I had my son 3 months ago I had a full time management position and a social life that I'm beginning to miss. I love my son more than anything in the world and I made the decision to be a stay at home mom because my husband is in the military and I felt my son needed the stability of having one parent there when he needs him. I'm basically a single parent and sometimes I just want to run to the nearest anywhere just to escape my son's crying. I feel guilty and like a bad mom for feeling this way. Should I feel guilty? Am I bad mom?

Lenient, or authoritative? I mean, should kids be scolded and disciplined for their misdeeds and dangerous activities, or should we as parents just turn a blind eye and offer hugs and kisses and acceptance of even the most grave misbehavior without so much as a whisper? Let the run the home and surrounding areas and do whatever they wish, or set boundaries and firm rules that are expected to be obeyed...or suffer some form of consequence? What's your reasoning for your beleifs, and why do you feel this way? How do you EXPECT your child to turn out (hopefully) based on your philosophies? Explain.

When my daughter is old enough to go out to play, I would like to be able to track her in case she wanders off further than she is permitted.

a) is there anything ethically wrong with that ?(clue: the answer is NO lol)

b) is there anything on the market which could be used for this purpose?
