confined to the downstairs computer room (upstairs in having the floors done) We already sang, played a game, he played alone for a bit, had a snack an now I think he is bored again. Any ideas how to entertain a little kid, not tv.

Your baby will never get bored with you. He is only 18months. Anything that he does or sees until he's about 2 or 3 will be intersting to him. I thank it is you that's getting bored you feel you are running out of things to do. But just keep playing with him even if you thank your acting stupid, he likes anything you like right now. If you lose interest, he will too.

I have 3 kids and they never get bored. I guess you are tired. Read him a book. Take him outside if you can. Hide & Seak. Do you have blocks there? You can build something with blocks. Coloring. Is not a bad time to give him a pen and paper. At noggin.com or nickjr.com you can find activities according with his age. Good luck!!

bubbles! kids that age love bubbles. They love to pop them too.
Reading to them. A whole new world opens up to them when you open a book.
color! Have at it on a sheet of paper.
water fun! fill up a cake pan with water. He will love to splash around with it. Give him some measuring cups to "wash" or pour back and forth.
shaving cream on a cookie sheet does wonders. Add food coloring to spread some color around cookie sheet. mix another color to get a total different color ie, red and yellow makes green.
blocks. what a great skill to teach your child. You can build with anything. If you don't have blocks, use cereal boxes or tissue boxes. Save diaper wipe boxes and stack with thoes. Kids love boxes.
Some his attention and he will not be bored. He is learing from watching you. Do what you want him to do!

Books, books, books! Read him a book. I agree with you about the tv. Too much crap on there these days.

Or, go run around in the yard with him. The "chase the legs" game is always a hit with the little ones.

Preparation is key:

As you know that you will have to spend a period confined to one area with a toddler, you needed to Plan

Toddlers have a very short attention span: They always need different activities.

Why not take him to the park?

You could read or tell him a story.

Talk about animals and pretend to be them. You could even pretend to go to the zoo. Tell him to get on the train and go with you...just let him sit in your lap and bounce him, make train sounds. Then, talk about the animals. It can be a lot of fun. If anything, he'll enjoy watching you pretend!

It is been 18 month since your child's born and still you don't know how to entertain him!
Try to take him out to show him the world out side home.
Maybe he needs someone in his age to play with.
if didn't work, accept TV

go to the park!! take him shoppin>>>>>toys shopping >think toys r us or walmart!!!play in the backyard. go for a walk, get some icecream, bake some cookies or muffins and have him help you mix things and crack the eggs.one thing i loved doing with my parents was helping them clean the house...and i used to love going shopping with my mom for flowers and plants and help her plant them in our yard. its tiring, and messy but i ghuarantee your son will be in bed early and sllep solid through the night. the more fresh air the better.

babies cant get bored easily! they still dunno how to get bored too! babies can easily make fun in their ownselves..they can just hold or grab something[a toy, book, comb, bottles, spoon, etc etc] and they can play with it immediately..because of the fact that they dont really know what it`s use!!!
but doing things like this everyday, everytime can make ur baby get used to it,and can cause being shy and dont have the enough confidence to minggle with others ..so try taking him n the park,or toylands where he can play with other babies too!
