I would just like to know why so many people think that teenagers who have cell phones, posh cars, designer clothes...etc are spoilt? I have a friend whose father owns a company and whose mother is a forensic psychologist. Due to that, he owns a bmw z5, always wears designer clothes and has all the gadgets a teen guy would want. but he is very kind, generous, well mannered and very respectful. But there has been alot of stereotyping that teenagers who drive the latest cars and wear designer clothes are spoilt which i dont think is the case for some teenagers.

What can I do to get him motivated to WANT to work hard at something, to care about doing a good job, etc.? I don't want him to become one of those teenagers that just doesn't give a crap about applying himself. Does anyone have any SERIOUS advice? Forget "talking" to him, as that goes in one ear and out the other...

I am going to try not to spank, but I think that everyone can raise their child how they wish. My son is 14 months old and I never have a bit of problems with him. I am planning on using timeout as his punishment, but I have never felt the need to punish him before. I am pretty laid back. But, I was just wondering when other parents started laying down the rules. I thought I should start when he begins the temper tantrum faze, but I don't know. Any advice would be helpful.

My son has gotten a rash on his cheeks I am not sure if it is from him getting his top and bottom molers or if it is because we took him to a swiming pool for the first time. Maybe he is allergic to chlorine?

My mom treats me with much love, she's nice and understanding. Sometimes I do'nt agree with her, she makes me do things I don't want to, she says it's out of love and I know it's true, but I'd rather not do them. Anyway, I don't fight much because I love her and I'm a good girl. I'm not so rebelious as many teens my age, when she tells me to do something I don't want to I complain but dont make a fuss and since she always says something like Hun, it's for your best, I love you and gives me a hug, I surrender, a bit frustrated but not resentful When someone trteas me with love it's hard for me to say no, especially to my mom. Some kids and even some adults say I'm weak and will never be a successful and independent woman, though I'm doing great at school. I must admit when I'm sad I liike wen I say mom, I'm sad and she comforts me with love, saying Oh hun, what happened, open your heart tome, I'm her for you. I gusee most teens don't do this. Am I really a weak girl?

I don't know why it is such a concern to me about my son getting chickenpox. Practically everyone in my family had chickenpox before the age of 3 - my son is pushing 4. My son goes to daycare where I know there's probably more germs floating around than in a toilet seat. Is my son more like to get chickenpox while he's in daycare? Or will it just happen when it happens?

I was told by the women at WIC that even with a doctors written script they sill still only cover certain formulas. My son had Carnation Goodstart with a doc excuse. But now they say they wont cover and Enfamil or Nestle regardless. That Similac is the best and that they're all really the same. Even with the excuse they still over gave me Similac and Isomil brands. Im assuming it changed. The more I asked, the lady got aggrivated so I thanked her and left. Figured somebody on here would know form using the program

I think my husband has Retrograde Ejaculation... where when he ejaculates nothing comes out, but it (the sperm and semen) goes back up into his bladder and comes out when he urinates.

Has anyone ever conceived naturally or with "help" with this diagnosis?

I also have PCOS, so this is making it EXTRA hard for us.

my mom is a pastors wife and quiet controlling and prone to exagerated adult tantrums to get her way. My daughter was 2 years old and I got a really nice wine rack and put vodka and rye and and such in it and put it on top of the fridge. It took me a year to drink those 3 bottles. My mother got very upset and said that my daughter would grow up to be an alcholic. I told her to back off. She than went to a 'non Christian' friend to get someone on her side. Than she used that 'even this non-Christian agrees with me (this persons child was 12, not 2, if that makes a difference). Did I break some parenting 'rule' that i didnt' know about. My mom just freaked and I think even cried, on behalf of 'what is best for my daughter'. Did I do something wrong. I mean beer in the fridge is accessable and at arms reach. This was ON TOP of the fridge, although granted, it is hard alchol...????

well my son is 5 months old.since he was a little premature we did a hearing test for him(BERA) wen he was 3 months.the test results showed perfectly normal hearing in one ear and moderate loss in another ear.the doctor has asked to repeat the test wen he is 9 months.he responds to loud sounds n sometimes even to small sounds.i just want to know if he will need a hearing aid later in his life or this is normal n also will he have any problem in talking?will the next test turn to be normal?

I just wanted to get a General Opinion. Genetics aside, Do you think it could be resonably argued (maybe even regardless of genetics) that since the parents control: what comes into the house (after all the parents {legal guardians} are the ones buying the food ), {for the most part}, eating habits, how the food is prepared, food guidelines (i.e limitations, portion control), outside play time (i.e. the child getting exercise, being active) etc.. so if the child is overweight, it's the parents to blame. If it's not their responsibility then who's is it? Aren't the parents the one who should to put their foot down and say "no, that's enough". I'm not saying be calorie commando on the kids, but making sure they have a balanced meal, isn't that the parent's responsibility? I'm speaking mostly on younger kids. Just wanted see what other people thought on this touchy subject. Thanks
