When I asked the midwife the pros and cons, I was informed fewer infections for the baby, bonding and weight loss for reduced risk of breast/ovarian cancer for mother.
The intelligence aspect is apparently a myth.

In my opinion from these facts, you are doing no harm to the baby; besides perhaps letting it get a cold and strengthening it's immune system that way. The risks to yourself are your own business and really negligible, smoking, sunbathing, fizzy pop, many foods put you at risk of cancer also ... you can't live in a protective bubble.

It's a while off yet, but, I do not want to breast feed, the thought of it seems wrong. I would not do it in public (or indeed in front of anyone), which would be very restrictive. I'd consider a pump, but I am not a cow. The feeding would be shared between my husband and myself. Formula is very advanced. The one and only thing making me reconsider is the judgement, which to me seems ill educated and unfounded.

Explanations welcome.

last night 15th june 08, my partner now ex found out thru my computer i had cheated on him previously which i am not condoning is right! but what basically happend was i was 4 doors down the road with my friend i came back to find my daughter gone, he told me what he had found and that hes taken my daughter as im unfit to be a mum now surley my mistake in my relationship shouldnt make me a bad parent,me and my ex have been having serious problems for 2 years.but hes basically saying he will go to court prove im an unfit mum and i will never see her again.now ever since she was born ive had post natal depression my daughter went to live with my exs parents for about a year while i was getting better as wel i was stil seeing her having contact etc, i finally got her home on 12th may and now shes gone again,will my depression come back wil it ruin everything iv fought for, but the worse thing is im pregnant agin with our 3rd child which he doesnt want anythin to do with...please help!!

Hi all

I need advise, Im travelling to Tunisia with my daughter 2.5yrs in July, I need a good lightweight stroller (umbrella folding) that I can use, it needs to have multi position lie back as it will mainly be used for when she wants a nap in the daytime/early evening and were out still.

I have a standard buggy Bruin Toledo but it seems very stiff to push (think the wheels are broken) so I need a new one, or one I can get from ebay second hand would do.

Obviously as she's 2.5 it needs to have a nice wide seat, and be comfy enough to nap in for short periods, also collapsable and not too expensive to take with the airlines (they wreck buggys!).

Anyone ovulate in the middle of period? My SO and I had sex on June 9th. I had 2 days of what was a medium period for me then stopped on the 9th so we went ahead and had sex w/o protection. The 10th I started spotting with a light flow later on but I had a boogery (it was like a thick snot booger) glob in my undies. I wasn't sure if it was maybe leftover *** from the night before but it seemed too thick to be to me. I started period back up but only a medium flow. I normally have mostly heavy days but I only had light to medium this time around. I haven't had that since I was in junior high or high school. Today I seemed to have stopped but I am cramping...this would be CD 9. Normally right before I start, I cramp, but thats it. Has this happened to anyone else? What happened? Could I have ovulated mid period? Or do you think is was just leftover from the prior nights activities?

And the parent doesn't care, can the police be involved? In the case of school ground fights, or incidents, it's up the the school to discipline the children (I'm assuming), but what about outside of schools?
At what age can children be charged with assault? Or can parents be held criminally liable for their children's actions?

I have been living with my boyfriend for 3 months. he has a 5 yr old I have a 12 yr old. We get along great except for kids and money. my biggest issue right now is he allows his son to come into our bed in the middle of the night. I let that go because it was not an all night thing.......until now!!! I am sitting at the computer and he is sleeping in OUR bed instead of his own. I have had other issues with how he raises his son (such as allowing him to curse "only around him" HE IS 5!!!!!) I have talked to him about this as well as other situations and he is slowly heeding my advice. I by no means am a perfect parent but I have learned over the years the do's and don'ts. I am really frustrated right now. I feel that OUR bed is our sanctuary. AM I WRONG? please any advice. I can take constructive critisim. just tell me why I am wrong if I am.

Hi, im 32 weeks pregnant and my waters ruptured with a fare amount of blood wednesday.
The baby didnt come and im now home packing my hospital bag early, just in case. Scan shows baby is fine so its just a wait and see game now.

LOL.. I know this sounds odd- I'm not reading anything more into it than I'm reporting to you to get your thoughts.. around 11:30 most nights for the last month, my 3 year old talks in conversations (one sided) with God... she's happy and telling him he's the best God and on and on.. When I've woken her and asked her if she was dreaming, she has said "God told me he loves all the people mommy." She has also told me that "God was dancing me around and around - I'm gonna marry him (which is her phrase for I love you - LOL - says she'll marry me or the flowers... It's a cinderella thing)...

We are what I would call "light" believers - in other words, she's been to church, we talk of God, etc.. but we don't go everytime the doors are open, we don't read the bible at length.. etc.

P.S. at first I thought maybe she just needed to pee, but have tried and tried, she doesn't pee she just talks and talks..

So what do you think? Please be nice - I'm just telling the facts.
