Sorry for so much detail but that's just how I am-talkitive (lol). When I get a spanking, it's usually from my mom. She calls me over to a couch or a chair (usually a couch). She tells me that she's gonna spank me for whatever I did wrong. Then she orders me across her lap. She grabs me around my back near my armpits and puts me where my butt is sticking straight up. By then, I'm usually about ready to cry and am complaining and asking her not to. She lectures me for tiny bit, then begins to slap my butt. She goes so slowly that my butt stings between each slap. After about five slaps, she stops and lectures me one more time then lets me up. I'm usually crying by then. If I do something really bad, then she has me pull down my jeans before her lap, then, while I'm over her lap, she pulls down my panties. Anyway... who else had a ritual when they got a spanking?

With reference to my last question I didnt mean to cause offence, I would in no way leave my daugther alone, not now and prob not before, If I worded it wrong then I apologise, my little one is sat on my knee watching cbeebies and im typing over her so sorry about the spelling and grammar (and unless I mistook this isnt a spelling contest??)

Anyways thanks to all who answered and thanks to all for being honest.

I feel what the McCanns are going through but I do agree to a point they are the only ones responsible for what happened as its their daughter, they have just very very lucky all three children where not taken.

I sincerely hope maddie is alive, as even the most terrible acts such as rape can only be better than death itself, I myself was attacked at age 8 and attempted rape by a neighbour, who was left babysitting me and my brother, it was not brought up until years later and something I and my parents have to live with. But they would rather have me here than dead.

TO ALL THE KIDS
WHO SURVIVED the
1930's 40's, 50's, 60's and 70's !!

First, we survived being born to mothers who smoked and/or drank while they were pregnant.
They took aspirin, ate blue cheese dressing, tuna from a can, and didn't get tested for diabetes.

Then after that trauma, we were put to sleep on our tummies in baby cribs covered with bright colored lead-based paints.

We had no childproof lids on medicine bottles, doors or cabinets and when we
rode our bikes, we had no helmets, not to mention, the risks we took hitchhiking.
As infants & children, we would ride in cars with no car seats, booster seats, seat belts or air bags.

Riding in the back of a pick up on a warm day was always a special treat.

We drank water from the garden hose and NOT from a bottle.

We shared one soft drink with four friends, from one bottle and
NO ONE actually died from this.

We ate cupcakes, white bread and real butter and drank koolade made with sugar, but we weren't overweight because
WE WERE ALWAYS OUTSIDE PLAYING !
We would leave home in the morning and play all day, as long as we were back when the streetlights came on.

No one was able to reach us all day.
And we were O.K.

We would spend hours building our go-carts out of scraps and then ride down
the hill, only to find out we forgot the brakes. After running into the bushes a few times, we learned to solve the problem.

We did not have Playstations, Nintendo's, X-boxes, no video games at all, no 150 channels on cable, no video movies or DVD's, no surround-sound or CD's, no cell phones, no personal computers, no Internet or chat rooms.......
WE HAD FRIENDS and we went outside and found them!

We fell out of trees, got cut, broke bones and teeth and there were no
lawsuits from these accidents.

We ate worms and mud pies made from dirt, and the worms did not live in us forever.
We were given BB guns for our 10th birthdays,

made up games with sticks and tennis balls and, although we were told it would happen, we did not put out very many eyes.

We rode bikes or walked to a friend's house and knocked on the door or rang
the bell, or just walked in and talked to them!

Little League had tryouts and not everyone made the team. Those who didn't had to learn to deal with disappointment. Imagine that!!

The idea of a parent bailing us out if we broke the law was unheard of.

They actually sided with the law!

These generations have produced some of the best risk-takers, problem solvers and inventors ever!

The past 50 years have been an explosion of innovation and new ideas.

We had freedom, failure, success and responsibility, and we learned

HOW TO
DEAL WITH IT ALL!

If YOU are one of them . . CONGRATULATIONS!

You might want to share this with others who have had the luck to grow up as
kids, before the lawyers and the government regulated so much of our lives

for our own good.

And while you are at it, forward it to your kids so they will know how brave (and lucky) their parents were.

Kind of makes you want to run through the house with scissors, doesn't it?!

We just found out we're pregnant with our 5th child, and we were looking for an E name and we decided if it's a girl her name will be:

Elianna Grace Shannon. (Shannon is our surname)

What do you think of this name? And if you know any boy names, please let us know. If it's a boy his middle name will be Wyatt, so please bare that in mind.

My name is April, my husbands name is Elliot, and our four children are Ethan, Aidan, Emma, and Abigail.

That's why we'd like an E name.

Thank you very much!

I often answer and ask questions on Yahoo and I notice thumb ups and downs. Who and where do you do this ? I notice people putting thumbs down on some responses people leave me and I just wonder how they are doing this. This may be silly but I am posting it in this section because it is the only section I visit.

I have four children Ethan is 5 Aidan is 4 Emma is 2 and Abigail is 1. My name is April and my husbands name is Elliot, so as you can tell we are sticking with E and A names.

I just found out today that I'm pregnant with my 5th! We have been trying to get pregnant for about 3 months now and we're so excited! With every single one of our children we had the name picked out way ahead of time, and we'd like to do that now as well. Of course we have no idea if it's a boy or a girl, it's way too early, but we'd like to go ahead and compile a list of names.

I'd appreciate names starting with E and A for boys and girls, although since our last was Abigail and that starts with an A, we'd prefer E names. Both are appreciated though!

Thank you all so much!!!

Do you think that it would be a bad idea to name a baby just plain "Liv"? My parents are telling me that it might be better to name her Olivia, and just call her Liv, but I really don't like the name Olivia.

So-- would it be okay to name her Liv? And are there any other names, besides Olivia?
