He's growing up hun! If he's emptying the bottle at each feed, pop another ounce in it for him . He will probably start going a bit longer during the night as well for you, which is a bonus!

I say yes...wake him up. I did it with my now 4 month old and she is on a great schedule now. During the day , try not to let him sleep more than 2 hours at a time , it will encourage a schedule and help him sleep through the night sooner. My doctor recommended this and I thought she was crazy for wanting me to wake a sleeping baby , but I listened and it worked. Try to feed him every 3-4 hours and again right before you go to sleep. For example...my daughter was eating at 7am , 10am , 1pm , 4pm , 7pm , 10pm..then I would feed her at midnight , she would drink about 3 ounces and sleep until 7am again. Once she started solids , at the beginning of 4 months , I cut out the midnight feeding and now she sleeps from 10pm until 7am. The schedule really helped...you can try it , and if it doesn't work for you after about 3 weeks of trying , then continue to do what works for baby.

Wake him up! A little guy like that needs his nourishment and you need your sleep at night. I don't think he needs to eat every three hours but 6 and a half is too long for him to go without a bottle. Try to arrange his schedule so that he takes a bottle just before you go to bed and eventually he will sleep through the night in a few weeks or a couple of months. Congrats on the baby boy!

Yes, I always found maintaining a "strict" daytime routine meant the nights worked better. Try and maintain a Feed, Play , Sleep pattern and regular feeds during day, plus if things go wrong in morning, you still have the day to get things back on track! Ideally the longest (5-6hr) sleep needs to be at night.

its kinda a catch 22 the problem is if u wake him he might just be just a bit extra tired. but since he is still so small and already had a extra hour i would personally wake him. as u would be frightned that maybe he is hungry but hasnt the energy to wake and cry himself. i suppose its all trial and error. but if he has slept for five hours straight. maybe just try him on a feed. he will always fall back asleep again. good luck

I always say “Never wake a sleeping baby”, and a lot of other people say this aswell.
Your baby is doing what his body needs right now, sleeping. He will wake up on his own accord when he needs his feed. Try to relax and not watch the clock. His needs change daily, and today it might be he needs a little more rest to grow. Enjoy this extra time to yourself and have a cup of tea.

I always had extra sleepy babies too. My doctor said when babies are that young, wake them up after 6 hours to feed them. It never made any of my 3 kids wake up any more often.
Definately go up to 5 oz, and see how he does with that. Make a bigger bottle, and if he drinks it, great, if not, then you'll know how much he can drink.

I would start giving him his 6 oz's before bedtime and let the 4 oz for daytime.I would try if your doctor allows to give him a little Pablum mixed in his formula at night you can get that bottle where it come threw better;and also a bath about hour before his night bottle with the Pablum this will fill him up and he should sleep better it did for mine good luck

Don't. He's just growing and adjusting. He will wake up as soon as he feels hungry.
