Help me warn young mothers about the current birthday pary mania! "For warned is for armed!"
I think giving huge, expensive parties EVERY year has become unhealthy for kids and pocketbooks alike.
I recently heard that some schools dictate a policy of inviting everyone in class or no one! Some parents are using the event as a status symbol others don't know how to "buy" out of the cycle.
Am I the only one who thinks this is out-of-hand? Solutions?

My 1st pg was an early m/c, and I'm super nervous about this one. I go to the dr tomorrow, and want to know what blood work, etc I can request that is above and beyond the norm to know if everything is going ok. I was going to ask for HCG and Progesterone, are those really helpful? I know I'll get an u/s in about 2 weeks, but I don't think I can wait that long to know if things are going well this time. Help!

I REALLY want to start babysitting but the only problem is I don't know how to get my name out. Most of the people I know that have little kids live too far away from my house. I don't live in a neighborhood and the only houses around me all have grown kids. What should I do so I can earn some money this summer doing one of the things I love?

I have a 1 year old son with a guy who I was with for 2 years. The baby was planned, he asked me to have him a child. I loved him enough despite my wants to be married first, so I did. His job kept him away so I barely saw him and he barely saw the baby. For 9 months my son and I would only see him twice a month, and when we did see him, he was on the couch, Budweiser ESPN and then would leave the next day. He wouldn't say 2 words to me. Any attempt to show him affection by me was brushed off. He was not helping me finacially with the baby and I was basically a single mom. Fast forward to February. I at that point no longer loved him. Months of lonliness forced me to seek affection elsewhere. technically we were still "together" but my heart wasn't his anymore. I tell him about this "thing" I had with one guy that lasted 3 weeks in October and of course he's furious. Fine. We understand we don't want to be together and he tells me also he is having money problems. His truck gets repo

My wife was a week late on her period, took the pregnancy test and it came up that she was pregnant, but this morning she said she has started spotting and thinks its getting heavier, is there something wrong? She was on her feet alot yesterday if that might have something to do with it.

My friend is 19 and pregnant, she is about 6 weeks gone and is keeping it. She has no job, no money, lives with her mum, smokes, etc. Im not happy about it but realised the best thing to do is support her and help her get the information she needs for a succesfull and healthy birth. Where/who is the best place to get the best information, ideally online and free.

I am 18 and basically all through high school when i tell people that i am saving myself for marriage the make it seem like i am Mrs.Holier than thou. A lot of teenagers look at it like i am a gil who just has noooo fun. i dont think i have to have sex to have fun. Plus in my opinion ending up with a child, four children and mutliple baby daddies, or an STD is not fun. I think sex is more than a just a physical connection with another person and i only plan to share my body withy only one person in my life. To bad my peers dont see things that way.

My child is 2 years and 5 months although he is very verbal I can only understand maybe four or five words that he says.

I know all children are different but this is really worrying me. My daughter had a sereve speech problem and did not speek at all unitl she was 3 and half. We had to take her to see numerious doctors and specialists but no one could ever find a reason, I don't want my son to have to go through that and I certainly do not want him to be labelled as special needs like my daughter was. My daughter is now 7 and the special needs label still haunts her although she had never had a difficulty since age 3, in the end we had to change her school. I have always said that if my daughter did have a problem we would welcome any help we could be given but no one ever did help, the teacher just told her she was useless.

My son will start playgroup next term and I am very worried it could all happend again.

Hi,
I know Dr's won't let you go more than two weeks over the due date and also that the due date given isn't exact but can drs get it wrong with as much as 4-5 weeks? Is it possible to go 4-5 weeks over your due date without seeing it on the placenta and the baby (if drs still think the edd is correct)??
pls advise
