My 1st pg was an early m/c, and I'm super nervous about this one. I go to the dr tomorrow, and want to know what blood work, etc I can request that is above and beyond the norm to know if everything is going ok. I was going to ask for HCG and Progesterone, are those really helpful? I know I'll get an u/s in about 2 weeks, but I don't think I can wait that long to know if things are going well this time. Help!

as long as your dr knows of your failed pregnancy he will be sure to run appropriate tests to watch for signs of another m/c ...do not worry that history repeats itself. Take good care of YOURSELF....you are the way for your baby to get here...Congratulations

HCG will help let you know if the baby is growing properly before the ultrasound. Testing for progesterone will let you know if you should be taking supplements. Other than that, there's not much you can test for at this point. Good luck!

Make sure your doc knows your history so that way they do not treat you just like the others. Mc does not necessarily repeat itself but the doc will be a little more attentive to your pregnancy knowing your past. HCG test will help know if hormones are multiplying properly. Good luck to you!!!!!:)

Make sure that your Dr. know of your past history and he will know of any extra tests that should be done.

They will do blood tests to check you for STD's, and check your iron level. They will check the HCG to make sure it's where it should be. They will do a Pap Smear if it's due. They check your urine for protein as well.
