No that wouldnt be a miscarriage, but you really should tell her to get to a hospital immediately, as whatever is causing her to throw up could potentially cause a miscarriage. Anything that is thrown up would be coming from the stomach, and a fetus (the baby) is in the uterus, which is an entirely separate body part.

I do not believe it has anything to do with the pregnancy.

Has she been coughing recently?

My best advise is to get her to a doctor asap, and just for info, there is small veins in the back of the throat that can get irritated and cause blood in the spit, but again, I don't know all the circumstances and can only say, IT'S NOT NORMAL to throw up blood, go see a doctor.

She needs to go to a DR. How much blood? I had extremely bad morning sickness and it my esophagus was totally raw and I was throwing up/ coughing up little bits of blood but nothing major, nothing more than like a clot looking thing the size of a quarter...But I asked my Dr. about it anyway, you can never be to careful when you are pregnant.

Throwing up blood is never a good sign, she should contact her doctor immediately or go to the emergency room.
Miscarriage signs would come out of the vagina.

No, its not. The digestive system is completely seperate from the reproductive systems, so blood from the reproductive system does not escape through the digestive system. Having said that, ANY time someone is throwing up ANY quantity of blood, they MUST get to the doctors as soon as possible. It does mean she is ill, and complications of that may endanger her baby - SO OFF TO THE DOCTORS AND QUICKLY!!!!!!!!

No! It is a sign of an emergency!

Might be a lung hemorrhage, stomach ulcer, some form of cancer, etc.

Take her to the ER now. Good luck!!
