anyhow, i paid $100 for my son in oregon in 2005. most insurance, i was told, wont cover it because it isnt necessary and is considered a cosmetic surgery.
my sons was done 3 days after birth (i had a c-section, so we were in the hospital for 4 days) but my friend just had a boy and he had his done when he was about 10-11 days old, they brought him back. it all depends on what your hospitals policies are.
congratulations!

Most hospital do it before the baby goes home, and some insurance pays for it. Not sure how much it costs to have done if your insurance doesn't cover it. I didn't have my son done. And more and more doctors recommend that you don't, and I found all of the nurses I had in the mother baby unit, were against it also.
But it is a personal choice. Ask your doctor, they can tell you how much it will be, or give you the number to call and find out.

I had my son done 3 years ago. The charge sheet says $500.00. But the insurance covered most of it. They will do it in the hospital soon after birth. They did it with my son the morning we were released. They did it at like 5AM, and wwe had to wait for him to pee ok before we could go.
Make sure your get the plasti-bell. It is great. And ask about numbing stuff... My doctor used a numbing cream before the procedure, and the only thing our son didn't like was being strapped down to the table. But when they were finished, he was fine. Came back into our room and ate and napped. No issues. The plasti-bell makes it easy to clean, and falls off in about a week. Good luck and congrats. Boys are so much fun!!!!

How much it costs depends on where you live and what technique they use.
Standard here (BC, Canada, and no it's not covered by insurance) is somewhere around $300. You can choose to spend double that and have a fancy technique done, where they actually - get this - use anaesthetic!
(no, my son didn't get circumsized. His little penis looked just perfect as it was, it was up to his dad to get it done since he's the one who wanted it done, and he didn't. So I didn't either)

It's becoming more and more popular to NOT circumcise infant boys... You might want to consider researching such an important decision before you focus on cost alone. Just because you are having a boy doesn't automatically mean you must get him circumcised... You - and your son - do have a choice in the matter.

the price will vary depending on your hospital and insurance, some cover it completely, some have a co-pay and some don't cover it at all. Call your dr or ins for more info

Most insurance don't cover it because they consider it to be an elective. I paid $200 cash to my sons Doc.

For my son, the circumcision was $400 (luckily insurance covered it) and they did it the day after he was born.
