Do you know you're pregnant? Or is it just a heavy, clotty period?

If you know you're pregnant, call your doc's office immediately. If you are bleeding so much that you are saturating a pad to completely full in less than one hour, go to the ER immediately.

If you know for a fact you are pregnant, you are likely going through a miscarriage. Go to the ER only if you are bleeding heavily...soaking through a pad every half hour to an hour. This could be a sign of hemmoraging and it is quite dangerous. Unfortunatley, if it is a miscarriage, the ER won't be able to do anything for you short of a D&C to stop the bleeding. I would call your OBGYN and see what he/she advises for your particular situation. If you do pass the baby or any tissues, your doctor may want it to be saved and tested...this is rather traumatizing though so check with your doctor to see if this is even what he wants to do. Hoping and praying it's just one of those flukey things that happens to some women and you and your baby are ok.

I had the same issue for about 12 weeks with bleeding and clotting, I'm currently 27 weeks. Go to doctor's, Don't work out, eat folic Acid and drink lots of water. The doctor will be able to tell by ultra sound if the baby is still in there, don't assume you already miscarried.

If you know for sure you are pregnant go to the ER asap. You are not supposed to be having a lot of clots & pain that is not normal & that is signs of a miscarriage.
