Unless you are dehydrated or have an infection, your urine should not smell any differently, although your body will be producing much more of it.

Nothing changes about the composition of your urine in pregnancy except the presence of the hormone HcG which is odorless.

Your sense of smell might be heightened, though, and that could explain why you are "smelling" your urine more.

I have heard of people that think their urine smells different when they are pregnant. It's how my friend realized that she was with her 2nd baby, before she'd missed her period or taken a test, she just knew from the smell. (it wasn't a 'bad' smell, just different.)
It is not a good way to determine if you are though, take a test and go to the doctor. But it is normal.

It may smell different because you are preggers. I know when I was, I could smell stuff I'd never smelled before. It goes away once you give birth, till then you are going to smell everything. Things that once smelled good, won't smell good anymore. Things that you never liked the smell of, you'll love. It's a hormone thing.

I've never heard of your urine smelling different but before I knew I was pregnant (at about 2-3 weeks) my boyfriend told me my vagina smelled different. not bad, just different, that was one of the signs that made me take a test.

My urine didnt have a strong smell and I had a perfectly healthy pregnancy. The tough part is to know what is "normal". When you are pregnant your senses are elevated as well, so you just may notice it more now. Senses are different when you are pregnant.

you cant tell from the smell if you are preggo, but I did notice it smelled stronger to me. But that may be because i have the nose of a hound dog now. My hubby says its so I can smell the food cooking :) but i think its just natures way of telling you is something smells rotten so you dont eat it. Which has actually helped me out A LOT. My hubby cooked a few steaks the other night and when he brought them inside from the grill I immediatly knew that they were bad.

In pregnant women, the urine is basically the same. However, pregnant woman will have unpleasant smelling feet, mouth, and vagina. This is due to hormonal changes.

.....your urine should still smell the same, look the same, and be the same lol....there should just be MORE of it, since the baby is taking up most of the space in your stomach and pressing against the bladder causes you to pee more.
