If I have been damaged by someone who goes into bankruptcy, can I sue him after he emerges, or am I required to bring my complaint to the bankruptcy court, or what?

I lent my ex and his mom $700 about 4yrs ago so they would not get evicted. Ive only seen 300 since that time and that was only this past may. She always has an excuse as to why she doesnt have it. Her reason is always too many bills or not holding down a steady job. That isnt my problem. I recently learned that she has mved into a new town home. If so I know with her not holding a job, and not havign good credit, she probably would have had to leave a deposit. I feel that before one starts spending extravagently you need to pay off your debts. She should have paid me before moving into this place. It has been 4yrs! Can I take her to court and sue for my money plus court fees and maybe a lil extra for having me wait so long? The only thing is that the receipt from me withdrawing from my account is faded therefore illegible. Other than she, her son, and my own word there is no proof. She sent me 300 as a money order, but I deposited it. Is there anything I can do?

If there was no demand, there would be no problem. Every person who does drugs in the US is guilty of causing tremendous grief south of the border! Those of you with a conscience should consider that every time you consider using drugs.

Her and her ex hubby were phonies, corrupt, millions of dollars were taken from good law abiding citizens who didn't have the money to give to two wicked people. If the truth was known he took the fall for her, he went to jail she ran to another man. Yep my idea of a role model. Even in her death bed interview she had those long ugly *** eye lashes.

Ok, I am pretty sure that I can...but I want to get some others' opinions. I have SOLE LEGAL and PHYSICAL custody of my 2 1/2 year old son. His father and I lived more than 100 miles apart when the court order went thru and he does not use his visitation rights (which are set as the parties agree).

My court order states this: “A parent whose custody or parenting time of a child is governed by this order shall not change the legal residence of the child except in compliance with section 11 of the “Child Custody Act of 1970”, 1970 PA 91, MCL 722.31.”.

Here is a link to that custody act, if i am reading right then i am ok, right???

(it is a pdf)

thanks!!!

They could do it by way of graduated homeowners' dues. The poorest homeowners would pay nothing and receive "aid" from the HOA, while the owners of the biggest homes would pay 97% of the total.

Then we would have neighborhood-level egalitarianism...if socialism is the greatest system in the world, then it must be great on every level, including the neighborhood level, right?

My mom is in jail right now for larceny, and she got a sentence of 6 years, so can get out for good behavior in 3 years. she wants me, and my family to come and visit her every week. I have 3 children, and a husband. Both my husband, and I work so we don't get to spend too much time together as a family. She wants me and the children only to visit her 3 times a week. I don't really think it's necessary because, I would like to do family things with my family, and not run up there 3 times a week. I am there for my mom, I write to her, and I do visit when i can. Do you think I am wrong for not wanting to visit her when she wants. By the way it's 1hour & 45 mins from where I live.

There is no question that Bush and Cheney have broken several laws.

However, I am not a lawyer and therefore cannot quote the specific laws that these evildoers are breaking, chapter and verse.

Outing Valerie Plame, the abuse of signing statements, lying about the presence of WMDs in Iraq, etc., is always met by shrill, defensive conservatives saying, "Yeah, but what law did they actually break"?

I don't have access to the law books. Can you progressive lawyers out there go into the exquisite legal detail that will at least give these misguided defenders of Bush/Cheney pause?

We really need to impeach these two before they claim emergency powers before January of 2009 and crown themselves co-dictators for life!

I've heard some people claim that the record companies are being immoral by ruining people's lives for what amounts to petty theft. This is similar to cutting off someone's hand for stealing a loaf of bread.

Therefore, it is claimed, that we are obligated to perform civil disobediance and refuse to give one more penny to the greedy record labels, and therefore we should not buy any musc.

Your thoughts?

No one is born "illegal". Surely it is the right of man to travel the world and all that's in it. Borders, passports and immigration laws are all man-made. How dare a government class a person as illegal. It's a strategy by rich countries to keep the poor down and confined.

A close friend called me 6 months ago & asked me to let her borrow $500.00 for a down payment on a car.I went to the dealership & let them run my debit card. She then returned the car, got the money back, and put it down on another car at another dealership. She told me in the dealership the day that I let her borrow the money that she would pay me back in 2 weeks. This conversation took place in front of the lady from the dealership, that I had referred her to ( I had bought a car from them previously). After she had not paid me the money back after numerous attempts of trying to get it back, I called the lady from the dealership & she said that she would testify against her in court if necessary.2 wks ago she said she had the money, went to pick it up and her husband said that they didn't have it & just gave excuses. Now my daughter has to have an MRI done & we really need the money,so I sent her an email. Now she says that she doesn't know what money I'm talking about. How do I prove it?

ok, this happened when i was 14, (i am 20 now) One night, i was with my brother (he was only 16) and his 2 older friends, well we were pulled over by a state trooper, and they ended up towing the car, this was around midnight, we were 1 mile away from the next town. The trooper did call my brother and i's parents, or even offer to call for a ride..the nearest phone to us was inside a strip club near the are we got stopped. Well the trooper left us out there to walk, a 14,16 and two 18 year olds...at MIDNIGHT. none of us were old enough to go inside the strip club, when one of the 18 yr olds tried, she was denied..So we had to walk to the nearest town, 1 mile away at midnight. When my dad found out about this, he went to the Stae Police office and complained, thinking this was a racial siutation, as we are brown. OSP would not look into it...so my question is, do you think it was right for the trooper to do that? should they have looked into it after our complaint?

I was at Dunkin Donuts and I after I paid with a $10 bill they gave my change back, and in the change there was a canadian penny. This is absolutely disgraceful ... receiving international money in AMERICA. What's wrong with this country? America is being taken over by the mexicans ... now the canadians?

American money is worth more than canadian so I didn't get back what I should have. Isn't that illegal that they gave me international currency? If not, it should be. Disgusting.

ok, my husband is involved in a huge homicide case, ( he didnt murder someone, but he was there) when this goes to trial, i am one of the witnesses, as i know what happened that night (by him telling me 5 months later) So im considered one of the MAIN, well someone told me that i CANNOT testify against him, because we are married, is this true? will everything that i have told them, be useless in his trial? I am also pending a charge ( i think the detectives were trying to scare me) i UNKNOWINGLY cleaned the apartment, where this murder occured, however it was already cleaned, i saw no blood (in the bathroom) we were told to throw away everything in the apt, my fingerprints and footprints (there was SOO much bleach being used by my husband on the floor that we tracked bleach onto the carpet and it was never changed) they are telling me that my DNA is at the crime scene, and if they wanted, they could charge me with something, my husband told them i had ABSOLUTELY no knowledge, can they?
