I've heard some people claim that the record companies are being immoral by ruining people's lives for what amounts to petty theft. This is similar to cutting off someone's hand for stealing a loaf of bread.

Therefore, it is claimed, that we are obligated to perform civil disobediance and refuse to give one more penny to the greedy record labels, and therefore we should not buy any musc.

Your thoughts?

Yeah. Its not so much civil disobedience. Its more of a boycott with alternate means. (I.E. Instead of riding the bus, you walk) Well instead of buying their crap music, I download their crap music.

Its a win win situation.

Downloading =/= illegal Uploading = illegal

I don't mind music downloads. If it is a legal download, it is okay to download the mp3. If it is not a legal download, it is theft. You should not take something that you have no right to receive.
