A woman in Texas, nearly 50 years ago attempted to drown her son. The boy did not die but did suffer severe brain damage. She was released on a temporary insanity plea. Due to the growing popularity of the brain damaged son some say she should be retried and executed for attempted murder. So, Should Barbera Bush get the chair?

Ignoring the last sentence, and answering the question of law....

Attempted murder is punishable in Texas by the death penalty. Her intent to kill would need to be proven, and the damage to the child is irrelevant for purposes of the trial -- attempted murder applies whether there is any or no harm actually done.

Ok, I think you're making a jok, but, here's my stance on the death penalty, see what you think:
For us as a society to put someone to death makes us no better than the offender. I think we should leave that up to the prisoners--give them couciling & let them know that if they choose death, that it's OK and it will be delivered swiftly & humanely. Their choice, not ours. And it just might reduce the prison population thats costing us many thousands a year per perp. & for nothing in return.
Ok I relinquish the soap box now.

I doubt her involvement in the politics of her husband & son. I have a clear answer for such a question regarding Hitlery Clinton though.

I don't think anyone has been executed in this country for attempted murder. I'm not sure.

Attempted murder is not a capitol crime, even in Texas.

this is a fairly serious crime but execution is usually sentanced because of murder i'd day prison for life, or mental hospital for life
