There is no question that Bush and Cheney have broken several laws.

However, I am not a lawyer and therefore cannot quote the specific laws that these evildoers are breaking, chapter and verse.

Outing Valerie Plame, the abuse of signing statements, lying about the presence of WMDs in Iraq, etc., is always met by shrill, defensive conservatives saying, "Yeah, but what law did they actually break"?

I don't have access to the law books. Can you progressive lawyers out there go into the exquisite legal detail that will at least give these misguided defenders of Bush/Cheney pause?

We really need to impeach these two before they claim emergency powers before January of 2009 and crown themselves co-dictators for life!

I consider myself a progressive and am an attorney, but in this case the conservatives are right. Bush has overused signing statements, but it is unclear if signing statements have any legal effect. If they do, it is within the President's discretion though I wish the media would pay more attention when he does it. If they don't then Bush is merely wasting ink. Bush has been a bad President, but that is not an impeachable offense.

Calls for impeachment have become out of hand over the past 30 years. They should be saved for the horrendous criminal conduct of someone like Richard Nixon and not used for every political disagreement with the President. Republicans were wrong to impeach Clinton. Democrats would be wrong to try to impeach Bush. Let's just get through this next two years then put this national nightmare behind us.

You mean they have already been found guilty?

I missed that. I'll be watching this post carefully to see what laws they broke. Too bad the Plame issue was ruled NOT illegal as she wasn't undercover at the time (despite her supervisor's mistaken testimony, the documents show she wasn't). Unfortunate that so many people "LIED" about WMDs in Iraq long before President Bush was even in office, a lot of them on either side of the political aisle.

Let's see what laws they have broken. Waiting...

(Democrat, but I hate nonsense like this that was also tossed at President Clinton and wasted so much of his time. Enough.)

So far a post about laws, no indication of laws broken by the President or Vice President.

Your next poster (other than me) is a patriot. I'm grateful he's watching our President so carefully. His behavior is respectful, and respectful of our representative while still opposing his policies.

i'm no longer a lawyer or a doctor, yet people in many circumstances ask my suggestion. I actually have a attractiveness for being user-friendly besides as sensible. So perhaps I could attempt sending expenses to those who ask my suggestion.
