They have a so called expert panel on drugs, the people who are on the panel are selected by the home office. They come from all walks of life such as doctors, nurses, police, religious leaders etc.

They advise the government on which drugs they condsider a threat, i actually read a report where they mentioned alcohol and tobbaco which suprised . the governemt downgraded Cannabis on the advice of this panel. The good think for the government is it gets to choose whoch advice to take, and which to ignore. If anything goes wrong they can just say they acted on the recommendations of the panel. Personally I think that they should legalise growing your own cannabis, but make it illegal to sell it, especially in that brown bar form which is full of oil and other ****. If cannabis was smoked sensibly and not enhanced beyond its natural form there would be no mental health problems. If the issue is now mental health they should ban alcohol for the same reasons, drunken in excess alcohol also causes Psycosis

The netherlands has very few drug laws, and they have the fewest number of hard drug addicts in Europe, and the most hard drug addicts in rehab in Europe. Cannabis doesnt have to be taken with tobbaco, and although it has carinogens in it that can cause cancer, the THC means that altogether smoking grass (obviously tobacco does counteract this) means you are thirty percent LESS likely to get cancer, as THC kills weak (eg cancerous) cells only.

Noone has ever died of cannabis overdose, and it doesnt affect intelligence in the long term. THC does mean that brain damage is (slightly) more likely, but cannabis also has CBD in it, which is better at preventing brain damage than most perscription drugs, so if cannabis was legal strains could be made that actually reduce the chance of brain damage. Cannabis is the third least addictive of all recreational drugs.

Also the argument about stronger cannabis being available is poor - just like vodka being up to 12 times stronger than beer you just drink less of it. tobbaco (should be class B if system was done properly) and alcohol should be class A if system was done properly) are both much more dangerous than cannabis, but the government makes money off them.

Prohibition simply makes more crime, and makes otherwise law abiding citizens mistrust authority.

He was simply trying to target the naive "yoof" vote.

Popularity, legacy and power the only issues that count with Cherie.
Blair never really had a clue.stumbled into power ,staggered around, made impetuous decisions in a desperate attempt to
feign radical reform.Pandered to a few focus groups.Surrenders the EU rebate to France, surrenders Ulster to the IRA,offers power sharing to the Argies in the Falklands ,surrenders partial control of Gibraltar, surrenders Britain to the muslims. The whole thing plays out like a bad charlie chaplain movie.
Gets fired. In the interests of the party hes allowed to say he jumped. He splits, rakes in a mint on publishing deals, but he lives with the knowledge that he never made it.A nobody,a 10 year dark age.
