now he gave his landlord lady a whole month deposit, with no lease signed or anything was just to hold. for april 1st. she took a check from us. so we contacted her today and told her we cant take the aprtment. she stated she is keeping the money, (which is govenorment money) so i put a stop payment on the check, since it was last month required by her, and she will charge the next new renter first and last . so she is making 2 last months rent off people... anyways i dont thin this is legal to keep that kind of money off people .. any one know the answer to this? was $700.00 deposit.. nothing signed as stated...

I own a condo and there is a renter next door with a barking dog. I've complained to the condo association and at first they said they would "try" to evict her. That was 3 months ago, and the "quiet enjoyment" of my property is non existent. The condo association is ignoring my requests to do something. What are my next steps, an attorney to enforce my rights? The by laws are clear in that renters are not allowed pets, so it seems like an open and shut case, but when the condo association is ignoring me, I feel helpless.

Certain store chain request to see your receipt after purchase upon exiting the store, however, the chain store does not make this request of it's customers at most of it's other locations. I understand that some store locations may have a higher theif loss than others, but I do not steal and I feel like I'm a suspect by having to verify again my purchase. If this is a policy of the store chain, then it should be a policy that is practice at all of it's stores. Furthermore, is it legal to do this, and does it violate any of my rights?

I found that at least one top contributor is in it more to protect his colleagues and himself than to help in answering questions. We tend to give more weight to a so called top contributor, therefore they should be more professional or at least refrain from making light of peoples problems. Doe's anyone agree with this?Or am I taking it all too serious?

If 85% of america is overweight shouldn't the proper weight people get handicapped licenses since they are the minority. We are rewarding hippos by putting them closer to the door, thus encouraging fat people to flourish throughout america. Not to mention it is depriving actual people in need.

Fact is, Sex Offenders have a recidivism rate lower than all classes of crimes except for murder. Scientific Studies have shown that %85 -%90 of all released SO's will never repeat their crime and live normal, healthy productive lives, if they are allowed to. If you don't believe me, The US Department of Justice released a comprehensive study on SO Recidivism in 2000 that you can look at yourself on their website. Many States have comissioned studies as well and have found similar results. So why all the lies? and how to counteract them? This bias is a direct result of both conservative and liberal politicians trying to garner support by "whipping the scapegoat", much as Hitler did with regard to the Jews. Who's next? Islamics/Muslims? Black Youth? :-??

My car wasn't starting 2 weeks ago. I towed it to the local mechanic and he fixed it. He said the battery terminals were just corroded and he cleaned them and the car started normally. Now, 2 weeks later the car is not starting anymore. There is a 90 day warranty on the work, but I have to tow it in to the garage again (which will cost me another $60). Should he be responsible for paying the tow fee?

I would say, as I'm sure most would, that it is to better society. Bearing this in mind, why is the death penalty a favorable option? I've heard it costs so much money with all the procedures and such that it costs less to feed and take care of them for life. I don't believe the death penalty discourages the occurence of crime, as most people who commit such crimes as muder are usually beyond such a level of reasoning. Any varying from this I don't feel are enough to outweigh the cons of the death penalty- extra costs (Correct me if I'm wrong), the arguable human rights debate, etc. What is your response to this in favor of capital punishment?
