colorado really has a serious drinking problem. i lived there for 20 years, and moved five years ago to another state. colorado is the only place i have seen drinking and drug abuse being treated as the norm. good for colorado for toughening the laws. know going into this that the judges there see more dui and dwai cases than they can stand. they have grown tired of hearing excuses. try to be level headed with the d.a. and negotiate with him. a lawyer wont help you either. last i knew, the fines were about 2k.

You really did not list enough information to answer this properly but if you were arrested for DUI I would be more worried about a possible incarceration than a fine.
I am surprised about your reading of .06 though I have to say. Most states are .08 and anything lower would generally not be considered legally intoxicated. This can vary though if the officer feels you were also impaired by some other means (drugs, etc). Did they do a urine exam on you, or check your eyes with a pen like device?
Most states also require you spend a night in jail for DUI related offenses as they don't want you to be let go and try to drive again.
In Florida for a first DUI you are looking at a license suspension, no jail, community service, counseling sessions, and maybe 300 or so in various fines.
I would check with an attorney as you may have a great defense as you were only a .06 when arrested.
Good luck

Colorado's laws just got a lot tougher, so my friends that did community service and spent a lot of time in AA, probably can't tell you what is going to happen this year. If I remember the new law correctly, your first DUI is now considered a felony. You will probably spend about 3 months of nights in jail with a work release. You may even get just weekends, if you have the right lawyer for plea bargaining. By the way, in the new law, CO lowered the amount that is considered intoxicated.
