Depending on the state it happened in, it could be a life sentence, probably not death. Hopefully the circumstances will be self defense, and nothing will happen.

well that really depends they may try and switch the person over to the adult criminal curcuit -- then you can be charged to the fullest extent of the law in that state even death is possible -- or if the prosecution is unsuccessful in that then they will be in juvenile court but I think that it is a couple years in juvie then to adult prison for up to 25yrs -- I could be wrong then -- the defense and how they will plea to will have an effect too!

At 16 a person can be tried and sentenced as an adult so I guess it depends upon where the crime is committed.

Try them as an adult and sentence them to life in prison without parole....Some state might impose the death penalty.
